"Do you ever wonder where you'd be if you didn't go to Manchester first?"

"What do you mean?"

"Like... Like what if, say I don't know... Juventus signed you first or maybe even Barcelona. Do you think you would have ever joined Real Madrid?"

"You're asking if I had went to another club in the beginning, would I have gone to Real Madrid later in my career?"

James nodded and glanced over, meeting eyes with Cris. Cristiano smiled and hummed looking away, his gaze returning to the many boats floating on the ocean's water.

"I don't know," he replied honestly. To say the thought had ever crossed his mind would be a lie, he never liked thinking about what if's. The thoughts were often pinned as distractions in his mind. "Why? Do you think so?"

"Do I think you would have joined Real?" James asked, his palm pressed against his chest. Cristiano nodded and James sat silent for a moment, as if he was pondering his answer. The peaceful silence filled with faint chatter from the locals passing by them and the gentle splashing of the waves in the distance.

Cristiano had assumed James wasn't going to answer and smiled to himself, feeling a warm feeling of pure fondness and adoration swelling up inside him. His eyes looking over to see James staring out at the sea, a relaxed look on his face. Not a worry in the world, it was admirable to Cris. The amount of nonchalance that James radiated, like a bright ray of light in the darkness of the world.

"You always said that Madrid was your second home," James voice cut into Cristiano's mental monologue. He sighed and looked over, his eyes locking with Cris'. "I think no matter where you chose to go first, you would have found your way home eventually."

The answer was simple and it wasn't nearly as grand or profound as someone would have expected, but for some odd reason they hit Cristiano hard, like a punch in the gut. He felt his mouth drop open slightly, James must have noticed and smiled, reaching forward and slipping his fingers in between Cris' so their hands were linked.

"I really want some ice cream," he changed topics so fast and Cristiano wasn't sure if he should feel relieved or not. "I know a really cool ice cream shop down the street, did you want to go get some with me?"

"Tell me one of your guilty pleasures," James was gently running his fingers through Cris' hair. The curls just barely starting to show through the various hair products Cristiano had put in that morning. Cristiano had his head in James lap, resting after the long day of interviews and other non important but still important meetings. The position was far too domestic for their short lived relationship, they'd only been on a handful of dates so far. But still, it didn't feel wrong being this close so soon, it was as if this was just second nature for them. He felt James stop his movements, making Cris open his eyes. "Hey, don't go to sleep on me."

"Sorry," Cris smiled sheepishly, his cheeks turning bright red. He moved to get up but James stopped him, laughing a little and shaking his head.

"I didn't say move, I just said don't fall asleep on me." He even leaned down and pressed a soft, and quick, kiss to Cris' temple. If Cris' cheeks were hot before, they felt like they were on fire now. His heart beating fast at the small romantic interaction. "So, guilty pleasure." James had begun to stroke Cris' hair again. Soft motions lulling Cris' eyes closed again.

"I don't have any," he lied.

"What? No, yes you do. Don't lie to me." James huffed and gently tugged on Cris' ear. Cristiano laughed and shrugged, "Come on, if you tell me one of yours I'll tell you one of mine."

"Ooh, lucky me." The tone was clearly sarcastic and he couldn't help but laugh even harder as James lightly smacked his cheek.

"Shut up and answer," Cris' could imagine the pout that was surely on James face right now and smiled.

"You tell me first," he hummed.

"No, that's not fair. I asked you first."

"Tell me yours or I won't tell you mine." He bit back a smirk as he felt James pause. His fingers gently twisting a strand of hair on Cris' head. James huffed and began to braid a small patch of Cristiano's hair.

"You can't laugh at me," James mumbled and Cristiano chuckled, crossing his heart.

"I won't, I promise."

"I don't believe you." James' voice sounded so small it was endearing, Cris gently maneuvered his way up, so he was facing James, his head still in the others lap. He pulled James hand to his lips and delicately kissed the knuckles on it. It was James turn to blush now, his lips turning up into a small smile.

"I swear I won't laugh."

There was brief moment of silence as James quickly debated on answering or not, Cristiano continued to softly pepper James hand with kisses.

"I have one person dance parties."

The silence that ensued was more than awkward, Cristiano waited with baited breath, unsure if James was lying because surely that wasn't his guilty pleasure. That wasn't even something he should feel guilty about, but as the silence droned on and on.. and on... and on. It became apparent that that was well, that was it. James was blushing bright red and he wouldn't meet Cris' eyes.

"Dance parties-"

"Yes I know what you're going to say, that's not that bad, but you don't, you just-" He was clearly frustrated and huffed. His arms crossing across his chest defensively. "I mean like, I really like to just dance but sometimes it shouldn't even be called that because I just, I make up the moves as I go along and well... It's embarrassing."

"Can you show me?" The question was out of his mouth before he could stop it.

"Wha-no! No I'm not going to show you-"

"But-"

"No, now tell me yours." James turned away, Cristiano chuckled and shook his head. He laid back down and closed his eyes, thinking about what guilty pleasures he had. Only one was coming to mind and he never admitted it to anyone.

"It sounds pretty tame but um," he paused and really? It wasn't that embarrassing but it was something he'd never admitted prior. "I can't go to sleep without having a glass of milk first... And if I'm like on a trip and I can't have one, I usually need like a sleeping pill or something to put me to sleep." He didn't dare open his eyes, not wanting to see the look of confusion that was surely on James face. He took a deep shaky breath and continued on, "Also I have an alarm set at 1am to wake up and go have a small glass of milk and cookies... It's um, well its comforting for me."

He waited and was sure he scared James off for good, it wasn't anything wild or crazy but it was just weird. Like? What grown man has to have milk and cookies at nighttime? He eventually opened his eyes and to his surprise he seen James smiling down at him.

"What?"

"That's really cute you know," He muttered quietly, his fingers reaching down and stroking Cris' cheek tenderly. "Milk and cookies at 1am?"

"On the dot." He whispered back, still unsure if James was okay with this or not.

"Would you wake me up too?"

The question caught him off guard and he felt his heart start beating a little faster. Warmth spreading through his body.

"Would you want me to?" He asked earnestly, James nodded smiling.

"I'd love to have milk and cookies with you."

"Well..." He smiled and sat up slowly, moving so they were comfortably face to face. He tangled his fingers into the hair at the back of James head, pulling him into a gentle kiss. "I'd love to have a dance party with you."

The giggle that rang into the air from James filled Cristiano with nothing but pure love. Their lips met in the middle, guilty pleasures aside, Cris knew he wanted to anything with James from now on.
