Chapter X

Lisa sat quietly at the bed, fiddling the button of her coat. Staring into space, how did the time go so fast? How did Jennie managed to replace Chaeyoung in an instant? It took her a kiss, to realize that she was trapping herself in a cage she made and feed herself with fantasy of her and Chaeyoung ending up together. Jennie was the plot twist. The feline eyed woman was her plot twist. Lisa smiled sadly to herself, she was ridiculing the idea of her and Jennie and here she is falling in love with the woman, maybe the old woman was not bogus at all, and she does see something between her and Jennie. Four hours ago, when she met Jennie, her only intention was to help and keep her company here in New York City and falling in love with her was not on the list.

"Why are you smiling?" Jennie asked, as she walks out of the bathroom, Lisa looked up and smiled at the woman. Jennie on the other hand, returned the favor, but her eyebrow is creased as to why is Lisa smiling like that. "Are you that happy because I'm leaving?" Jennie asked, raising one eyebrow, a defensive smirk is drawn on her mouth, but deep inside, she wished the doe eyed woman would not answer a stern 'yes'.

Lisa's mouth looped in a one sided smile as she approach the feline eyed woman, when she's inches away from Jennie, Lisa stared at the woman, drowning herself to the feline eyed woman's beauty, taking the time to appreciate the woman's features, she cannot believe how perfect this woman's face is, and the more Lisa looks at Jennie the harder it is for her to let the woman go.

Lisa placed a few strands of Jennie's hair behind the feline eyed woman's ear, caressing her cheek, sliding her hand against Jennie's soft skin, as she traps the South Korean woman inside her arms, still looking at her beauty.

"I'm happy I met you." Lisa stated gently, emphasizing every word, pulling Jennie's body closer to her as if they could get any closer now. Jennie bit her lower lip to suppress a smile but failed miserably.

"Ugh, there you are again with your sweet words." Jennie said rolling her eyes trying to act annoyed, but her face is betraying her as her lips twitched in a sweet smile.

"I'm sorry." Lisa pouted, feigning offense, but Jennie does not seem to catch it.

"No, don't apologize. I like it." Jennie stated, arms now wrapped on Lisa's neck gently sliding her fingers up and down the doe eyed woman's nape, "In fact, I never thought I can be flattered by words, Jongin usually takes me to dates, cheap dates." The feline eyed woman continued, Lisa looking at her intently. "Buy me flowers, Make love? Eh, do sex..." Jennie grimaced at the thought, now that she felt what it is really like to fall in love, and be treated with love, she realized her marriage with Jongin is just a manufactured romance created by their families, maybe that is why Jongin cheated on her, maybe he found someone he truly loves, maybe he was also trying but got fed up, Jennie sighed. "What I'm saying is that I appreciate your words, it is very flattering" Jennie finished. Lisa nodded contented with the feline eyed woman's words, as she places a kiss on Jennie's cheek.

They stayed like that for a couple minutes more, taking themselves into a different world of their own, a world where Jennie does not have to leave, a world where they can be together, but the harsh reality keeps on creeping on them as Lisa glanced at the clock, and realized that Jennie is running out of time.

Lisa pulled away from Jennie.

"You're ready?" The doe eyed woman asked, Jennie bit her lips, mood changing evidently as the woman nodded hesitantly.

"Yeah" Jennie stated.

Lisa hope and prays that the elevator malfunction at this moment, just to delay Jennie again, just to delay her from coming back to Boston, just to delay the fact the she will be left alone again, she loved Jennie's company, the feline eyed woman's light aura will be gone and Lisa does not know how can she move on from this, the harder she thought about it, the harder it is for her to accept the reality, but she cannot let Jennie stay with her and risk the woman's happiness, she knew Jennie's dream is to be a lawyer and now that the woman is an established lawyer, she cannot let herself take away that one thing Jennie suffered so hard for. She cannot let the woman suffer with her that would be miserable, because she knows how it feels to leave your dream to hide away, like what she did three years ago. Lisa took a deep breath and side eyed Jennie, the woman seems to be quiet, she observed.
