After four hours of interrogation Mystique, I learned her name in hour 2, was ready to bash my head in. Oddly enough, she didn't. In fact, for the 'bad side' she didn't strike me as all that evil.
"So lemme get this straight. The whole purpose of your orginization is to protect mutants?" I asked confused.
"Basically, yeah. We even have an island just for mutants, someplace safe for them to go and not have to hide who they are." She responded, glad to have moved away from our earlier subject.
"And you guys are the bad ones?" I laughed at the absurdity before continuing. "Because that makes soo much sense."
"Well, we have been known to do some things that aren't exactly saint worthy." She started and I rolled my eyes.
"Because the X-men are obviosly so perfect. So how big is this little brotherhood of yours?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I thought I was supposed to be the one interrogating?" She bit sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and she continued. "Besides, it's not like we can just walk around giving out vital information to our prisoners." She looked at me pointedly and I pretended to pout. "Are you sure you didn't have any training? I mean, you took out most of the A Team pretty quickly." Her eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"Nope," I pooped the 'p'. "Unless of course using my powers to steal food and rob banks counts." She looked at me buggeyed and I smirked arrogantly. "During battle I run off of pure instinct. Always have, and it seems to work pretty well against the X-Men."
"You've fought against the X-Men?" She nearly screeched, causing me to jump in alarm. "Who?"
"Ah, ya know, the easy ones. The claw dude, the blue teleporter with the accent, though he's a little harder to fight, and some dude who actually could shoot lasers through his eyes." As soon as I had started listing them off she had stared at me, dumbfounded.
"You're telling me you went against Wolverine, and it was basically a walk in the park?"
"Yeah, and?" I raised an eyebrow again, what's the big deal?
"How?"
I grinned mischeviously at her. "I'll just have to show you sometime." I studied her for a few more minutes before speaking again. "Alright, I'm in."
"What?" She looked at me like I was crazy.
"You heard me. I want in." I sat back in my chair. "And here's the best part. You said the X-Men are a real thorn in your side, right? What if I told you they were practically begging me to join them?" She looked at me wide eyed. "It never hurts to have a fly on the wall." I said casually, smirking at her. She studied me for a few seconds before getting up and walking out of the room.
She didn't come back for an entire hour. When she did, she entered quietly and didn't look me in the eye. "Well," I asked impatiently.
"I talked to Magneto and the others, ya know that was his kids you tried to take hostage." I ducked my head, slightly embarrassed. "Pietro wasn't to pleased with that."
"Pietro?" I had no clue which one that was. "The chick in the red swimsuit?"
"Nah, the diva in the silver. But, I'm sure once you apologise, he'll make nice. And of course we'll need to iron out some other details..." She trailed.
"Are you saying I made it?" I asked.
"Well, yeah, after your done at Xavier' s. It would kind of defeat the purpose of you became a member before then." She said in a manner that made it seem obvious. I nodded in understanding and she smiled at me kindly.
"So, at what point do I get out of the chair and into the field?"
