I woke up in the hospital, my vision was blurry as I try to focus. A hand suddenly touches mine and I instinctively jolt back, blinking, the calloused hand captures mine again. The words that I hear around me are muffled as I try to jerk my hand away, almost like I'm underwater.
"Lottie." I hear Tyler's voice as my vision became clearer and I stop struggling.
That's when I notice that the hand around mine is gentle and soothing, it's not painful or intending to hurt.
"Ty?" Comes out of my mouth groggily as I lift my hand to rub my eye as the feeling of sleepiness seems to multiply and a headache begins to form behind my eyes.
Tyler's hand quickly captures my other hand with his thumb gently rubbing against the front of my hand as he speaks quietly. He almost sounds guilty . "You have a pretty bad bruise on your head sis. I wouldn't do that if I were you."
I let out a groan then as I blink, my voice remains hoarse as I speak, "My eyesight is blurry Ty, if I rub it then maybe it'll go away."
"What happened last night Lottie?" He asks me with a whisper, his voice wavering slightly. "When I— when I saw you.. I — I — I thought — I thought— god, you looked dead Lot."
"You know how I never could follow the games." I mumble tiredly. "It was just —."
"Yeah, I know you get too bored and it doesn't help that the game confuses you." He says with a sigh. "What happened?"
"I walked around, it was getting close to half time I think? He shouldn't have even noticed me leaving the bleachers Ty." I whisper to him as he moves to sit on the bed beside me while I lay my head on his shoulder.
Tyler stiffens beside me as he whispers darkly. "Tanner? Tanner did this to you?"
A nod is all I use to respond to his question and I see his hand tighten into a fist. His breathing grows heavy.
"He did this to you?" He ask me again darkly, a slight tremor in his voice that's hardly noticeable because of the growl that leaves through his mouth. "If he wasn't dead already then I would kill him."
I stiffen instinctively beside him at his tone of voice before I take a deep breathe, continuing not to speak as I simply nod my head again.
Tyler growls, actually growls then before he says in a harsh whisper. "I'm glad that he's dead Lottie. He deserved it."
"Me too. I'm glad that he's dead." I whisper back, this type of thing shouldn't have happened. "He died? He really died?"
Tyler nods beside me and I let out a sigh of relief of never seeing that slimy dirt bagged bastard ever again. I wish that I could send his sorry ass to hell myself. It seems like I need to start carrying something for protection when I'm going somewhere on my own.
I can feel his hand in my hair, gently lolling me back to sleep. The hours after I woke up felt like they were long and for the most part I had two visitors. Tyler didn't leave my side during either of them. Even if they were both our family members.
One had been Richard, expressing his disappointment at the development. The second one being Mom, fretting over the situation and talking about the founders ball thingy that's coming up.
"Knock knock." I hear Elena say as she peeks her head in the room causing Tyler to almost fall over when he tries to sit up straighter in surprise.
Yeah, she's a bit of an unexpected visitor. Why is she here?
Glancing at my brother I glance back at her and look at her curiously. "Elena. Is there something that you need?"
