When I woke up I had to take extra care to cover up the bruises that were on my face. My lip was split and there was a small cut on the side of my cheek. With a sigh I try to cover up the cuts as well, normally no one asks or even really notices but— my luck has been worse then normal lately.

The morning itself wasn't too bad really, Richard mostly ignored us, thank god for small mercies. I can hardly stand that man at all, then there's the fact that I am increasingly ready to murder him and Mr. Tanner.

Unfortunately I highly doubt that Elena is going to let anything go from what she heard the day before either, she's always been a bit- well- nosey. But she generally means well. Which means that I have to worry about her talking to her friends about it too.

It's annoying, but then there is also my brothers suspiciousness and how his protectiveness seems to be skyrocketing.. it's worrying. I don't know what dad would do if Tyler found out. I don't think that he'd try to kill him or anything that drastic, but with Richard it's hard to be sure.

That guy is a loose cannon and he could go either way in my opinion. Would he ship me off or maybe he'd just murder me instead? I'm the one that he actually hates after all.

You could say that I have a bunch of problems right now that are just continuing to pile up right on top of each other. Now I have to worry about some possible vampire crap too on top of my issues with Richard and now Mr. Tanner.

Now.. how are there even vampires? Maybe I misheard them and these 'vampires' just need some iron pills or something? Maybe some therapy and to be in the crazy house?

Nah, that doesn't explain the whole crazy eye shenanigans thingy though. Like, it was the whole mind control type of bullshit.. at least I know to stay very far away from those two psychos. Now, how to avoid Stefan while at school? Avoiding the other brother will hopefully be simpler.

"Lottie?" I hear Tyler softly speak when the school finally (and sadly) comes into view.

Turning my head towards him and my brow scrunch's up in confusion. "What is it Ty?"

His hand wraps around mine as he questions me gently "Are you going to be okay?" Tyler's eyes were filled with worry and fear.

"I have to stay after school today with Mr. Tanner." I tell him as normally as I can, trying to keep my voice calm instead of in a monotone.

Tyler's hand tightens just a fraction and he takes a deep breathe and closes his eyes while his jaw clenches in anger. "Why is Dad doing this? Why is he pushing you to stay around that teacher. He always looks at you funny, he has since the end of last year."

I grit my teeth then as my body tenses, tears prick my eyes for a second before I blink them away. Forcing my voice to remain calm again I respond. "Dad has never liked me and you know that Mr. Tanner normally just ignores me."

He frowns for a fraction as he parks the truck and we start to get out. His mouth forms into a thin line as he mutters under his breath "Yeah, he used to. Until just after the bonfire, when you started acting weird."

We walk slowly up to the school doors, I can feel the stiffness in my body as we enter the building. It almost feels like death, or maybe I'm just being a dramatic teenager. Richard may hate me but he wouldn't put me in that situation right? But then he has flat out said that he would, not that the teacher has a creepy interest in me.

Why does he want to pawn me off so badly? It's not like I plan on staying around. Surly he knows how it would look to the town if he throws his teenaged daughter into marriage with a thirty or fourth year old right?
