Kaitlyn and Malfoy met after class ended. "So, do you want to study?" She asked.
Malfoy smirked and looked at her up and down. "What?" She laughed.
"Nothing. While my father's gone, do you want to hang out in my room? We have a couple of hours to spare." Kaitlyn looked up at him, smiling and nodded.
His room wasn't far from their last class. It was just by the 'dungeons'. The water outside the castle was right against the window on one side of his room which gave a beautiful green tint to the walls. "Here, let me hang your robe up." He said, gently dropping the cloak off of her shoulders.
The two sat on the edge of his double bed. They spoke for ages about anything and everything. The topic seemed mostly about why Draco didn't like Harry. He didn't like many people. Then it went on to something deeper. Kaitlyn started to feel more comfortable and pulled herself back so she was resting against the headboard with her feet up on the bed.
"Why have you only started talking to me this year?" She asked when she thought the moment was right.
Malfoy started untying his shoes then put them under his bed. His socks were so white, you'd think they were fresh out of the pack. He brought his knees up and rested his arms over them while facing her on the bed. "You don't know what flirting is do you?" He teased.
She laughed. She was an awful flirt, if she said otherwise he would have seen straight through her lies. "I'm not much of one myself, you see, Greenwood. Believe it or not, I've only ever had one girlfriend." He smirked as if it was an achievement. It wasn't a long term relationship, but if anyone ever asked, he would be able to say that he was 'experienced'.
"That is such a lie. You probably flirted with the midwife when you were born!"
He rolled his eyes and smiled. She thought it was really attractive, but obviously didn't say anything. "What about you? Any boyfriends?" He asked, seeming genuinely curious.
She shook he head slowly. "Actually, no. I guess muggle boys aren't weird enough to like a girl like me." She said, laughing.
"Oh, so I'm weird then?" He said, smirking yet again.
Did he just? He just confessed to liking her! "I guess you are a little." She giggled.
Draco leant over and put his hand on her chin, pulling her head to meet his. He moved his head closer, then whispered. "Can I kiss you?"
With a gentle nod, the pair joint lips for the first time. The initial kiss was just a peck but it was soft and sweet. Draco pulled back to make sure she was okay with it. Kaitlyn couldn't help but smile, so he went in for another. This time, the kiss was a little longer. He had one hand placed on her cheek, the other slowly moved down to her waist, he untucked her shirt and vest from her skirt, not exposing her, just to rest his hand on her skin. Kaitlyn pulled away this time, she couldn't kiss while she was smiling, it made her feel silly. She giggled, she had never done that, really but something about him made her feel like a child at Christmas. "Come here" he said with the cocky grin on his face and wrapped his arm around her to pull her into his chest. He kissed the top of her head. She stayed there, cuddled up with him on the bed. She took a deep breath and realised that she could smell that fragrance that seemed all too familiar. "I have to tell you something." She sat up.
Draco looked shocked and wondered if she was about to say something awful. "A few months ago, in potions. You came in late.. because of my stupid brother.. but you said that the Amortentia smelt like my perfume." He looked puzzled and slightly embarrassed that she remembered that day so specifically.
"Well, I got to class early that day. When I walked in the room, there was this smell, it made me feel so calm. It wasn't until you gave me your sweater that I realised that my Amortentia smells like you. Well it doesn't smell like you, it is you."
Draco smiled. It was as if every moment they spent together was to make up for all the time they hadn't. "I mean I don't understand the science behind it."
"You muggle born and your science." He laughed. "Just let things happen. There isn't a text book for this kind of stuff, you just have to go with it."
They stayed in his room for a while until his father's meeting had finished. Draco walked her to the library, she wanted to study for the rest of the evening. He stopped just before the door, she continued walking so he grabbed her arm to turn her. He pulled her in and kissed her again. "I'll see you in class tomorrow" she said, then kissed his cheek. He smiled.
"You up to anything Saturday? I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch in Hogsmeade."
She nodded. "Oh gosh. I can't. It's my mum's birthday, I promised her that I'd go back for the weekend with Charlie. Though I think he's forgotten."
Malfoy looked a bit upset with the news. "Ah that's alright, maybe some other time?"
"Unless, you come with me. If you feel weird about it I'll just say that you're a friend."
He looked surprised. He didn't intend on meeting the parents so early. He laughed to himself, then smiled and nodded.
"I've never been to the muggle world. Do you think your mother would be okay with it?"
She gave him a look, he knew that it would be fine. "I'd like that." He said.
The two kissed and said goodbye to each other. Both walked away with massive smiles on their faces. "Oi. Goyle. Bloody hell, Goyle. Are you deaf?" Draco said walking up to him.
It was crazy how differently he spoke to Kaitlyn compared to everyone else. "I need a favour. This weekend, I won't be around. I need you to cover and say that me and Crabbe have gone to Hogsmeade to check out new brooms for the team. Make sure he stays out of sight."
"I know what your father's like, Malfoy. I'm not doing it for free." He replied.
Malfoy rolled his eyes. He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a eight galleons and handed them over. That was a lot more than Goyle was expecting but Malfoy seemed to have and endless amount of money to spend so he didn't say anything. Draco walked back to his room. He opened up his closet to pull out some different outfits. He pulled out a quidditch sweater and some black trousers for a casual outfit, then a black, knitted turtle neck, a nicer pair of black trousers and a black blazer to wear for when he arrived. He opened up a black satchel and put in his comfortable outfit, underwear, socks and a spare toothbrush. He threw in his wallet too. For the first time ever, he seemed genuinely excited for something. He had never been to the muggle world. He thought non-magic folk were strange but he was willing to look past that. He had no idea what to expect.
