"Are you sure you're not forgetting anything?" His mother quickly asks, worry lacing her tense tone. She stops him at the door, gently resting her hand on his shoulder before he has the chance to walk away.
Rhydian slowly inhales the cool, outside air, feeling himself grow irritated before he exhales, regaining his composure. His grip tightens around his suitcase.
His mother has been like this for the past few months, overbearing, and always on his tail. The full moon was a pain to deal with. And ever since then he's been planning this move, but she still has the audacity to try and stop him as he's about to step out the door.
The cold air nips at his nose as he sucks in a quick breath. In one swift motion he turns around and stares his mother down with a stone cold gaze in his dull eyes.
"Yes. Goodbye, mum." He huffs, spinning back around as she opens her mouth. He yanks his shoulder free from her firm grip, trotting down the stairs and shoving the rest of his bags into the back of the silver car.
Her mouth hangs open, but no words come out. She just stands on the front porch, watching him quickly get into the car. He sees her waving out of the corner of his eyes. He sighs, glancing at her through the window before giving a passing wave as he starts the car. He slams down on the engine pedal, getting out of that driveway as fast as he can.
He can't help being begrudging towards her, or at least, he doesn't think he can. She had gone years without caring about what he did. But now, all of a sudden, she's being a little too caring. Overbearing and constantly worrying about him.
He doesn't like it.
He needs his space to wolf out, to be free, and that's exactly why he's leaving.
