"Hayden!! give me my doll back!!!!" Annie said stumbling down the hall way of the Summerall's house.  She was over at Hayden's house for his fifth birthday. Which marked five years since his mother passed away...

"Annie, just say that I'm the best and then you can have your stupid doll back." Hayden yelled from the top of the stairs. Annie stood there glaring at him from the bottom of the stairs. "You so mean to me Hayden!!" Annie finally gave up and slammed her butt on the bottom stair and laid her head in her arms and began to whimper. Hayden stood at the top of the stairs confused. he slowly walked down the stairs holding her doll in his hand. He sat down next to Annie and waved the little doll in front of her. "Annie.... i-i'm sorry... you can have your doll back but can you please stop crying...?" Annie slowly looked up, a big grin on her face. She quickly grabbed the doll and ran up the stairs. "Haha I got you Hayden!" she yell victories and ran down the hall. Hayden sat at the bottom of the stairs shocked. He had no idea that Annie could be that smart. He was always the one tricking her. He slowly walked to the kitchen and sat at the counter and watched as Shawn stirred dinner.

"Hey buddy, you okay?" Shawn asked little curious and a lot concerned. Hayden shrugged his shoulders and just looked at Shawn. Shawn had been a mother figure to Hayden. She picked him up from school, got him new clothes, and made sure he was taken care of when his dad worked late. A part of Shawn wished that that little boy got the joy of having a mother who was there for him everyday instead of when Jimmy worked late or he need new clothes. But she did what she could for him and his sister. "Annie was crying... it made me sad.." the little boy with brown eyes staring at Shawn said. Shawn stood there confused and shocked. "What happened buddy?" Shawn asked walking over and sat down in the seat right next to him. "She was crying and the she was running down the hall. I didn't mean to make her cry Shawn..." listening to the sweet little voice she smiled. She picked him up and sat him on her lap she gave him a tight hug. "Hayden, you didn't make her cry. She was just trying to get her doll back." Hayden was confused. He never ever wanted to make Annie sad or cry. He always wanted her to be happy, so he was scared that he did something wrong. He smiled at Shawn and asked to be put down. He ran out of the kitchen to go find his bestfriend.

Shawn watched as the little body left the room and she was left with just her thoughts. She got back up and went to finish cooking as Andrew walked in the room and sat in the very spot she was just at. "Andrew, do you ever think about how things would have been is she made it?" Shawn said looking through the fridge for some kind of fruit for dinner. "Shawn, she wanted to be here. She wanted to watch the kids grow up. Of course things would have been different. Sofia wouldn't be so shy, Annie and Hayden wouldn't be as close as they are. Jimmy wouldn't have to come home put the kids to bed and then work three more hours in the kitchen. Many things would be different but this is how things are, and we sadly cant do anything to change that." Andrew said a little side tracked as he answered a few work emails. "Just wish those kids got the joy of experiencing a mom who loves them." Andrew set his phone down and walked over to Shawn and hugged her tight in his arms.

After dinner that night, the two families watched as Hayden blew out that candles on the cake and open his presents. "What did you wish for?" Sofia asked in between bits of cake. "I wished that Annie will always be happy." He answered proudly. the parents awwed and laughed at the face Annie made. Her face was being stuffed with cake as he said that and she shoot up with a big cake full smile. Hayden remember that wish and did what ever he could to keep her happy. But at some point he gave up...
