Layla felt incredible on me; her body melted onto mine, her curves moved over mine, and I was lost in her flawless essence. Her lips cascaded over mine. Her hands ran under my shirt and caused me to shudder. I didn't want to rush the next part getting physical but fuck; she was making it hard to control my urge to take her hard and fast.
She deserved to be pampered and adored with care and attention, not a grouping animal with no boundaries.
I reeled in my beast and just got lost in her divine soft skin, her trembling sighs, which was music to my ears. The tenderness that eluded from her as she brushed her tongue against my flickering strokes was angelic and sweet.
She closely-held me, and we kissed then pulled apart. She sat up and moved off me; her lips were tainted with the slightest red tinge from the kiss, her eyes held desire and longing.
A knock interrupted our moment. Layla went to get up, but I stopped her. "I'll get it." She didn't fight me on it.
I inched my way to the door. My back was sore and not feeling the best, but I had to keep moving. I reached the door and opened the door. The hotel server pushed in the food cart. I thanked her and paid her a tip. She cringed when her gaze froze on my face. I knew what she was looking at. The scar the ragged, raw flesh still healing. The beast of a man that I was now. My face will be permanently disfigured for the rest of my life.
Instead of being proud of the badges I have earned, I get to look at my face every day and be reminded of all that was lost in my last battle.
Layla came over and closed the door behind the worker and came over to the couch. I woke up Carter seeing if he wanted to eat. He sat up and ate with us.
We enjoyed the day just lazing around. It was better here than stuck in a place that only reminded you of how much you'd lost and need to conquer to get back to your full strength. It seemed like such a mountain and strenuous work to think of my body functioning normally again. I hate feeling weak, and I hated not being able to help Layla against the guard. I felt powerless, not enough for her in that moment.
Layla had talked to the center, and she was terminated and would have a record on her file that she is unstable.
Which is bullshit.
This will suck for her doing anything in the nursing or rehabilitation field? So now she's jobless and starting from the bottom.
She doesn't seem to be sad or thrown off by it. She was outside talking to her sister.
I looked over at Carter, "what if we pay her to be our nurse?"
"I was just thinking that." He nodded in agreement.
"We should be looking for a place to live. We need something on one level, so it's easier for us to get around, and we will have to make sure we have all the proper gear so we can get our strength back."
I was trying to give Carter hope, and if I can push myself, then maybe he will too. I know he's taking it hard having his missing leg.
"Man, you don't want me tagging along." He scrubbed his fingers through his hair.
"Dude, I'm not leaving you, you need help, and I know Layla will help us."
"Briggs, you finally have a woman. I shouldn't be there."
"Carter, you are staying with me and that final."
