Chapter 2: Saved by A Hero

Irene's POV

Me & shadow were at a nearby shopping district to shop for his clothes & other things that he will need. We entered a clothing store that's filled with cool clothes. I forced Shadow to try different kinds of clothes but nothing seems to fit him. I was searching for some other clothes at a rack, then something caught my eye. A black shirt with dark purple rose patterns on it, a pair of black torn jeans, & a pair of black & dark purple converse. I took them & gave it to him.

Minutes later, he came out from the dressing room. I was awestruck. He look so handsome yet mysterious. He looked away & for a minute I think I saw him blushing. Maybe it's just my imagination. After grabbing a few other clothing, I went to the counter & pay for the clothes. "I'm hungry, let's go & eat." Shadow asked & I looked at the time. 12.45 p.m. I guess I lost track of time again. "Okay, let's drop this off at home & we'll go & eat." He nodded & we walked home. After we put Shadow's clothes at his share of the closet we went out to eat.

We arrived at a fancy restaurant not too far from home. We entered & was greeted by a waiter. "Welcome to The Starry Night Restaurant. How may I help you?" The waiter asked. "Table for 2, please." I replied while smiling. He smiled back & led us to our table. "What would you like to have?' The waiter asked. I looked through the menu that had been given. "I would like to have a garden salad & a winter milkshake." I told him. "Then I'll have a smoked salmon & a milk tea." Shadow said & we both gave the menus to the waiter. While we waited we talked about a few things. "Do you have many friends?" Shadow asked me. I looked down a little. "Not really. Many people hate me. They say it's because I came from a rich family & because I'm smart." I told him & sighed. Shadow just looked at me.

Soon after that our food came. We ate in silence. Not an awkward silence but a comfortable one. After I finished, I wanted to use the ladies room. "I'll be back in a sec." I stood up & went to the ladies room. When I was about to go back, I met someone that I'm not really fond of. "Well, well. Look what we have here? The rich, spoiled brat, Irene Afterlife."

Shadow's POV

What's taking her so long? I just sat there wondering why she hasn't returned yet. After Waiting for a few more minutes, I got fed up & paid for the food with the money she gave me earlier. Then, I went to check up in her. When I was about to reach the ladies room, I found a group of girls, kicking & tugging the hair of another girl. And I noticed, it was Irene!

Irene's POV

What's a low life like you doing here?" The girl in the middle named Aileen asked. "I'm here because I'm having lunch with a friend. And who you're calling low life? I believe you're the one who steals from their parents, you pathetic low life." I hissed back at her. I'm never afraid to fight back. I could see her getting really angry. "What? Don't tell me you're already angry. I thought you were tough. I guess I was wrong." I snickered. "You b****! Go & die!" She yelled & started kicking me & pulling my hair.

"I think it's best if you stop." The girls stopped what they were doing & turned around. I opened my eyes & see Shadow holding my phone. "I got every single thing taped. You don't want this to go viral & get in trouble do you?" Shadow while showing off my phone. "Give me that!" Aileen yelled & tried to grab it from Shadow but he raised it high so she couldn't reach it even if she jumps. "Leave, now." Shadow ordered. "And who are you to tell us what to do?" Aileen asked while crossing her arms over her chest. Shadow lowered his head and whispered, "If you dare to touch her again, I'll make sure you won't be able to show up at school anymore." He threatened. Fear was written all over Aileen's face. She 'tched'. "Come on, girls. Let's leave." She said & left with the rest of the girls.

"You okay?" Shadow asked while holding out his hand. "I'm fine, just a few scratches & bruises." I replied, wincing in pain as I got up. Shadow noticed & carried me, bridal style. "Wh-what are you doing?!" I asked, trying to hide my blush. "Isn't it obvious? I'm carrying you home." He said while walking out of the restaurant. "Wait! We haven't paid yet!" I told him. "Already did. I paid before I went to get you." He replied. "With the money I gave you earlier?" I asked. "Yeah. And you shouldn't leave your phone around like that." He scolded me. I must've left my phone on the table. That explains how he got my phone. "I'm sorry..." I apologized.

Time skip (In front of Irene's Home)

Shadow's POV

"We're here." I told her & puts her down. She took out her keys & unlocks the door. We both entered & went upstairs. I kept seeing her wincing in pain & offered to carry her but she said I've carried her long enough. I obeyed. As soon as we reached our room (A/N: Yes, they share a room.) she laid down on bed & went to get the first aid kit on top of her shelf. I treated her wounds. I noticed her face was red. "Do you have a fever or something? Your face was red eversince we got out from the restaurant." I asked. She look shocked. "N-No! Of course not! Why would you think that?" She stuttered. Again. I sighed & put my forehead on hers. Her face was getting redder & her temperature was high. "You're lying you do have a fever. Wait here while I go & get a cloth & some water. I walked out the room & went down stairs.

Irene's POV

His face was so close! And he noticed me blushing! GAH! This is so embarassing! I buried my face in my palms. I took off my jacket, hat, biker gloves & boots, then put it away. I laid on my bed & pulled my blanket over me. I was so tired after getting beaten up. Shadow treated my wounds earlier too. It's weird. Usually I had to treat my wounds all by myself. Being treated by someone else sure feels different. I slowly drifted to sleep.

Shadow's POV

I opened the door to our room & found Irene already asleep. I smiled. I pulled a chair next to her & dipped the cloth in the warm water. Then, I placed it on her forehead. I kissed her cheek. I watched over her as she sleeps. And without myself noticing, I fell asleep.

Timeskip (2:00 a.m. in Irene's room)

Irene's POV

I woke up in the middle night. I looked at the clock. 2:00 a.m. Then I saw SHadow on a chair sleeping. I smiled. I crawled out of bed & laid him on bed. I pulled the blanket over him and laid next to him. Then, I slept while having him in my arms.

A/N

Another chapter done! What do you think? Is it okay?  I kept thinking why is there nobody commenting ( Yes, I know there is a little bit. But most of you didn't comment!). I"m worried if my stories too boring! DX

Anyway, this year my classes got mixed up & I ended up with the people who I hardly know about or don't know a single thing about! I wonder how this year is going to turn out... Last year, my class got labeled the worst, thanks to a group of people. I wonder what my class are going to be labeled as this year? I guess I'll find out soon enough.
