Chapter 4: Shadow's First Day of School

Irene's POV

I was staring outside the classroom window while replaying the songs I heard last night when our class teacher Mr. Reiji Ranmaru came in. "Everyone, back to your seats!" He ordered & everyone immediately stood behind their seats then greeted him. "Good morning, Mr. Ranmaru!" "Good morning. Sit down." He ordered & everyone took their seats. "Today we will have a new student in the class. He came from England & moved here due to his parents work. So I'm expecting all of you to give him a warm welcome!" He said making everyone whisper among themselves. Nice background story you make there Shadow... I sigh. "Come in." Mr. Ranmaru ordered & everyone turned to look who is the new student. Shadow walked in with his hands in his pocket & his school bag at his shoulder. "Look at him..." "So cool!" "He's kinda handsome..." "I just died..." The others whispered. "SILENCE!" Mr. Ranmaru shouted, making everyone stop talking. "Now, introduce yourself to the class." He said to Shadow. "The name's Shadow. My last name is classified." Shadow said. For real? He had to say his last name is classified instead of saying he doesn't have a last name? I sweatdropped. "Okay... You can take a seat next to Miss Afterlife over there." Mr. Ranmaru said & Shadow just walked & took a seat next to me.

"Okay, let's get started. Today..." And he went on & on. Until it was time for the next class, which is P.E. I sigh as I close the door of my locker. "Something wrong, Afterlife-san?" My classmate Nariko Haruka asked. We're friends but not that close. And she reminds me of Rinko too, making getting closer to her much more easier. "Oh it's nothing. It's just I'm not really into P.E." I told her as walked with towards the gym. "Same here." She replied with a soft smile & I smiled back. "Okay, today we will be playing dodge ball. You two will be the captain of your teams." Our P.E. teacher Mr. Hayato ordered. "Right!" Both Shadow & our other famous classmate & Shadow's new rival (at least that was what the girls said) Naozumi Masamune replied. Me, Nariko-chan & Shadow are on the same team. Some of the girls didn't play & cheered for Shadow instead. I just sigh. These girls are unbelievable.

The game started. The ones who's not playing are completely getting crazy watching Shadow play dodge ball. Seeing him being all agile like a cat. I think I saw a few a girls fainted already. But he does look handsome though.... Wait, what?! Erase that thought Irene! Freaking erase it! Okay, focus Irene. Focus. Just then a ball was thrown right at me & I was completely not ready. I put my hands out & waited for the impact but nothing happened. I open my eyes & saw Shadow caught the ball & looked at me. "Be more careful Irene." He told & throw the ball at one of the enemy team members & hit him right in the face. I could feel the deadly stares from the girl students & it chills me the bone. Nariko-chan got knocked out soon after. "Ouch! Gomen, Afterlife-san." She said as she went to sit with the rest of the audience. I took a ball & throw it to the enemy team members & got 2 in one shot. "Yes!" The game continued until all that's left was me, Shadow, Naozumi & one of the three freaking princesses. The two throw the ball really fast making it quite hard to dodge but of course, Shadow had no problem with dodging them all. I successfully took out the princess but unfortunately, Naozumi avenged her & now I'm just sitting with the audience watching the one-on-one dodge ball match. It was actually quite intense. BUt in the end, Shadow won. Everyone cheered & started to crowd around Shadow. I just sat back & smiled at him. He turned to me & smiled back to me (causing more girls to faint).
