Chapter 3: A Day At School

Shadow's POV

I woke up when I heard the Irene's alarm clock. I wanted to move to switch it off but I couldn't. I realised that I was on bed with Irene hugging me. Evenmore my face was on her.... I blushed & carefully moved away her arms so I could escape. After I switched of the alarm I wondered, how did get on bed anyway? I shrugged & woke Irene. "Irene... Wake up. You have school today." She just turned to the other side in response. "You do know that your parents isn't here to prepare breakfast for you." I tried again but she just pulled the blanket over her head. I was getting so pissed off that I did something that surely would wake her up. "WAKE UP!!!" I yelled then tickled her. Her eyes widen & she started laughing. "OKAY, OKAY! I'M UP!" She said while laughing. I stopped tickling & she sat up. "Go & take a bath. I'll prepare breakfast." I told her while pushing her to the bathroom. "But do you know how to cook?" She asked but I just pushed her into the bathroom & closed the door.

Irene's POV

He didn't answer my question at all. I sighed. What if he doesn't know how to cook & set the house on fire? Let's just wish for the best. I took off my clothes & turned on the shower. After I finished taking a shower, I wiped myself dry & grabbed by bathrobe. When I walked out the bathroom, I found my school uniform all prepared. Maybe Shadow prepared it for me. I took my school uniform & wore it. For a cat, he really do know how to prepare clothes.

After combing my hair, I grabbed my school bag & went downstairs. Then I saw the dining table was set up like an english high tea. If I'm not mistaken, it's morning right now, not evening. Shadow, who was washing the dishes, noticed my presence turned around. "What are you standing there for? Sit down & eat. You're gonna be late." He said. I quickly snapped back to reality & sat at the dining table. There were cream puffs, tarts & sandwiches. My eyes shined at the sight of them. I took a cream puff & took a bite. The cream inside it melts in my mouth & it's so delicious.

"Waaahhh~ Oishii~" I was completely melting just because of a bite of a cream puff. "How did you make this in such a short time?" I ask him in admiration. "Let's just say I just randomly do things & this is what I got." He answered while taking a seat at dining table. "Ehh?! Are you saying that you randomly mix things & poof! An english high tea prepared neatly on the dining table?!" I asked, shocked. "You could say that." He said while eating a fruit tart.

"Wow... That's kinda unbelievable. Well, thanks for making breakfast... This is one of the best breakfast I've ever had!" I exclaimed with a smile. He seemed shocked then quickly turns away. Is he.... blushing? "Y-your welcome..." He quietly said. I looked at the time. 7:00 a.m. Time to go! "I'll be leaving now, Shadow." I told him while getting my school bag. "Oh, here." I heard him say then I turned around & saw him handing over a bento. "There's a few I put in some tarts & cream puffs along with the sandwiches." He said. I took it with the happiest smile I had. "Thank you, Shadow!" I thanked him & he smiled in return. "I'll be going now! See you later, Shadow!" I said as I wear my shoes & dashed out the door. I couldn't help but smile all the wa

Irine's POV

I opened my lunch box I took the sandwich that Shadow had prepared for me. As expected, it's very delicious! As I ate my lunch, a shadow loomed over me. "Well, well, well... If it isn't Irene Afterlife?" A familiar voice rang through my ears. I looked up. Ugh, it's Aileen & her gang again.... I sighed. "What do you want Aileen?" I asked in a bored voice. "Well, you see, we didn't get to finish what we started the other day, so we're here to finish it." She said in voice that makes incredibly irritated. "Go to hell..." I said, again in a bored voice. I could tell she was so angered by what I said just by looking at her. "You... F****** B*****!!! I'll kill you right here, right now!" She yelled at me. The her along with her girls started to beat me up. I didn't fight back because I promised my sister that.

Flashback (Childhood)
No One's POV

"She's so mean!" "How could she hit her like that?!" "She shouldn't have done that!" "SHUT UP!!!" Irene yelled. "I will never allow anyone to insult my sister like that!" She yelled once again. Everyone went quiet. "Let's go, Rin." She said whole pulling her sister's hand.

After they reached home, they went to their room. "Umm... Nee-chan?" Rinko, Irene's sister, called to her. "What is it, Rin? She replied. "You know, you shouldn't have hit her like that..." Rin said, making her older sister angry. "Then what am I suppose to do?! Sit around, & watch you get insulted?!" She yelled, making her younger sister scared. She noticed, and apologised. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to--" "It's fine, Nee-chan. Nee-chan can you promise me something?" Rin asked, while holding on to her sister's hand. "What is it?" Irene asked. "Promise me that you won't hit anyone anymore, okay.?" Rin said with a bright smile, making her sister shocked, but the she smiled. "Okay...." They both smiled towards each other.

But that was the last time Irene ever saw her sister's smile.....

Her sister was murdered in a car crash when she was returning from elementary school. Her whole family was devastated, especially Irene. She was so sad & depressed that she couldn't cry. But she held on to her last promise towards her sister, the last thing that connects her to her sister. She vowed no to hit anyone again.

Present time
Irene's POV

I will never breake my promise towards Rin! Suddenly the hitting stopped. I opened my eyes & found Shadow stopping the firls from hitting me. "I thought I told you not to disturb Irene again..." He said coldly. I was suprised to see him here. "S-Shadow... What are you doing here?" I asked him, still in the state of shock. "I had feeling you were in danger, so I came. Though I didn't expect to see this bunch of idiots again." He explained, making Aileen and her gang more enraged. "WHO THE HELL YOU'RE CALLING IDIOTS?!" Aileen yelled. "All of you lot, obviously. Well, as promised, I'll make you unable to show your face at school anymore." He then took my phone and sent something to all of contacts.

The school went crazy. Evryone was talking about some kimd of video that was sent to them. "What did you send to everyone, Shadow?" I asked. "The things that these filthy people had done." He said coldly. "No.... You didn't.... You couldn't have...." Aileen shivered in fear. "I wonder how will show yourself at school now?" Shafow asked sacastically while chuckling. Man, this guy can be so scary too, huh? I shivered as well. Looking at Aileen, I could tell that school is her living nightmare now. All thanks to Shadow.

Timeskip (After school)
Irene's POV

"It"s decided, then." Shadow suddenly said. "What's decided?" I asked. "I'll be enrolling in this school starting tomorrow." He said. That left me dumbfounded. "Now, come on. We haven't ate dinner, yet." He said. Looks like I have one more tging to be worried about....
