The day went by in a blur. It was nice seeing friends and talking about our summer but honestly I was glad it was over. Something today just seemed different and I can't think of why. After the first day of school, it always goes back to stress and misery the next day.

The tiring thing is, I had work in an hour and I completely forgot until now. Yes, I have a job. Not those kinds of jobs where after you get paid you can hang out and spend all that money with your friends. I have a job because of my mom. After my dad left, our family didn't have enough money to pay for food or our house. So I started working at Nordstrom.

After I left school, I went back home to change into my uniform clothes and dropped off my little brothers at daycare. Our uniform clothes were pretty basic. Ecxept that I'm the only one wearing a skirt with it.

"You're late again," my boss said to me as I rushed inside the store.

" I'm so sorry, I'll never let that happen again. I had to drop my brothers at daycare." I said nervously.

"No excuses. I'll need you to organize those clothes on the clearance rack." She pointed to the pile of clothes in the corner." Okay, no problem," I said hesitantly.

I started picking out clothes randomly one by one and arranging them in order on the rack when a whole bunch of guys came in the store. I kept doing what I was supposed to be doing when I heard someone yell out my name loudly,

" HANEEN?!" the voice screamed out loud causing the customers shopping to quickly turn around and look in my direction. I looked up and guess who I saw none other than Yusuf? What is he doing?

"Yusuf?!" I yelled out kinda startled as he was still in his shocking gaze," What are you doing here?" he asked with a puzzled face ," What do you mean what am I doing here? I work here." I gave him an expressionless face with the word "DUH" spreaded across my face.

Now, here is a guy who I barely only known for a day shocked that I am in a store where we just coincidently bumped into each other.

" Well, it's a surprise to see you here since basically I come to shop here every other day I guess,"

Okay, so this is getting pretty awkward so I think I should just walk away now. Let's see what happens now.

" Um, yeah. I've always worked here but I only work three days so..." I tried to walk away, but he called my name again, "What do you want now?" I said, looking at the floor. I so would not meet his gaze, Astaghfirullah (I seek forgivness from Allah.)

I was still waiting for an answer, but nothing came out of his mouth until now. " Nevermind. See you at school tomorrow. Salaam. " he said .

"Salaam." I replied back and went back to work.

I came back home 4 hours later and plopped on my bed . What a day, I thought in my head. Too much seeing one stranger guy in a day, and the fact that I have to see him from now on everyday.
