Cavern School: For The Mystical

Freaks, and Outcasts

       Ana, and I were walking into school. When Hilary, and her group of powdered barbies. Came up to us, and giggled in a whisper "orphan scum!"  Ana is a orphan, and been getting the lash from every student. Ever since she was a kid. One moment I turned to face Hilary "watch what you say McCormick!" She turns around with one hand on her hip "or what Walsh? Hmm? A weak little freak like you can't hurt me" 

Oh is that what she thinks? Cause I am not the person you want to get mad. My parent's have told me to calm my anger. Don't want my powers to hurt anyone. I try to try my calming words saying in my head "cupcakes, Christmas, Hot Topic..."  Before I could even blink. Hilary pushed Ana so hard, she fell on the floor. Hitting the back of her head, on one of the lockers. Everyone laughing. 

I couldn't even stop it from happening. Within a snap, I had Hilary tangled up in vines. One around her throat. Ana runs up to me, seeing my eyes were green "Madi release... Madi release!" I snap out of it looking over at her. Hilary dropping onto the schools tile floor, holding her throat "you freak! Wait till my father hears about this!" 

My eyes go orange flames, come out of my hands "was that a threat?" Hilary shakes her head frantically running off. Ana looks over at me with concern "you can't just do that Madi. Principal Sanders one more mess up. You are out" 

          She is right. If Principal Sanders finds out about this. I will be expelled for sure. I loop my arm around Ana's arm "lets get to class Milady" She giggles "we shall milady" I laugh. Walking into class. An hour passes when I hear "Ms. Madison Walsh please come to my office please" I knew that little cry baby would snitch. 

I gather my things. Walking into the Principal Sanders, I see my parent's, and Hilary's parent's Oh joy this is going to be fun. I sit down slumping on the chair. Hilary was crying, I roll my eyes. Such a little faker, pointing at me "Mommy she choked me with vines, and threatened to burn me!" I look over at her smirking, fire comes from my palm "and I'll do it again bimbo!" 

Mrs. McCormick gasps "I want her expelled!" Rich people... I hate them. Mom shoots a glare Mrs. McCormick "how about I expel all that make up off that ugly face of yours Marissa?" She gasps at my mom "I knew the Walsh family was full of freaks!" 

        Freaks? We're the freaks! Who cakes all that make up on your face thinking its pretty!? Not us. Mr. McCormick straightens his tux "I will not pay another cent for this school. If she is still in this school!" Wow such a statement... Dad looks over at him, rolling his eyes "is that why you dropped out of this same high school when we were kids Harold?" 

I try not to laugh. Dad hit the button, the button you should never push. Mr. McCormick gets in his face "say it again. See how long you have your job Jared" Dad laughs "you don't scare me anymore Harold. So don't threaten me. I am still the Chief of Police!" He straightens his police uniform "lets go Madison!" 

Principal Sanders, looks over at my parent's "what about Ms. Walsh's punishment?" Mom looks at him reaching for the door knob "she is withdrawing from this pathetic human school. I am done getting called. Cause some worthless snobs piss her off!" 

         The McCormick's look at my mom astonished at her words. Mom looks at Mrs. McCormick "still the ugliest cheerleader I've ever seen Marissa" Slamming the door in their face's. Mom looks down at me "don't worry about them honey. We're all going to a different state. Where no one will judge us again" 

That sounds like paradise. A place where we aren't seen as freaks, or outcast. Where we are all equal. I stop to see Ana.. Wait Ana.. I can't leave her here. Dad looks over at me nodding "go get her sweetheart" I nod. Rushing into the school, running into her class. I point "Ana come on grab your things!" She looks at me confused, but follows me out "where are we going Madi?" 

Somewhere far away from here. From this hell hole called Oregon. Dad, and Mom smile at us. Walking to the car, I flip off the school getting into the car.  Ana looks over at me "what about my stuff at the Mr. Glasses Orphanage?" Dad smiles looking back from the rearview mirror "we will stop, and have you gather your things. We will adopt you as our own" 

Ana starts to tear up "y..you will do that?" Mom smiles widely looking back at her "of course honey. You have been such a true friend to our Madison. Its the best we can do" 

       The car comes to a stop. Mr. Glass comes out in his ugly jumper, smiling down at us. Holding his world peace cup. Mr. Glass was never mean, he was the sweetest old man. Dad, and Mom look over at him "Bobby we will love to adopt Ms. Ana here" Mr. Glass smiles widely "oh that brings me such joy. Come on in out of the cold!" Gesturing us to come in. 

Mr. Glass looks over at Ana "go gather your things dear. Mr, and Mrs. Walsh and I must have a chat" He smiles at my parent's as they go to the back to his office. Ana, smiles wide at me. She hasn't looked that happy. Since I got her the necklace she wanted for her 7th birthday. She ushers me up the stairs. To grab her laptop, and what's left of her clothes "I can't believe I am going to be your sister Madi. This feels like a dream!" 

It really does, having my best friend I've been friends with since we were in diapers. Our mom's knew each other. They went to High School together. They were really close. Than Ana's mom died of Cancer. It spread to fast, their was nothing to cure it. Her father went into drugs, and alcohol. The court deemed him unfit to care for Ana. Now its our turn to make her life better. 

My mom has cared for her like she was her own daughter. She always bought her new clothes, bought her a laptop. Ana was already like a sister to me. She smiles over at me "ready!" 

        Walking down the stairs smiling at my parent's. Mom smiles "ready to go home girl's?" I nod, Ana smiles widely "home feels amazing!" Dad chuckles softly "lets go we got a lot of packing to do" Moments later we were on the way to our home. Ana plops on her bed smiling, giggling. I love seeing my best friend happy, it brings me joy. Dad brings in box's "make sure Madi dear everything gets put in these. The movers will be here tomorrow" 

I nod folding my clothes from the closet. Ana helping me "where do you think we're going sis?" Sis has a great ring to it. I shrug "I have no clue but I hope its nice" Ana nods "agreed" Tomorrow is going to be long day, for all of us. Lets hope where we are going will all make us happy.
