Author's Corner

Thank you for reading Brother's Keeper. I had so much fun writing this book. The four main characters were originally created about 15 years ago. I was doing a round robin with a friend of mine to pass the time at work. He started this story and I added to it. Once I sent it back to him, he'd add his part. I didn't like what he was writing and he was taking too long to respond so I took over. They were totally different from how they are in this book. For starters, they were in their late twenties/ early thirties. Tre's last name was Jackson and he was straight. Adrian was a submissive and was dating Chris. Gio wasn't even a character. They were all immersed in the BDSM lifestyle. It was a hot ass mess but I loved it. I ended up losing the original story because my laptop crashed and I couldn't save anything. I stopped writing for like 10 years. I couldn't get motivated.

I started a journal about 2 years ago to give myself something to do at work whenever I wanted to jump over a cubicle and clothesline my coworker. Seriously. I started back with Tre, Polo and Adrian... well his name was ChiChi. Gio was introduced as one of Tre's employees. It came out that he had a secret crush on Trevor.

Fast forward to 2020... pre COVID. I was talking to the same friend. We'd lost contact because of some phase he was going through. Whatever! He kept bugging me to start writing. I was like uh no. Somehow I came across this app and I started reading. Yeah... after reading stories by some of the authors on here, I was like nope, not gonna embarrass myself by thinking I'm in their league. So here comes Corona Lashay. I'm now working from home and doing school with my daughter. Not leaving the house, my sleep pattern was thrown off so I needed something to do in the middle of the night that didn't involve eating so I started writing again.

I sent pages of what I was writing to my best friend and like best friends do, she was hyping me up! Like I would get text messages in the middle of the night with requests for more pages. She would talk about the characters as if they were real people. She has threatened bodily harm if I went too many days in sending her updates and she SCREAMED at me for the ending. Love her though.

Yes there will be a part two. I mean we gotta find out what happen when they find Adrian. I expect bullets to be flying cause Anthony don't mind unloading a clip on any and everybody. I also expect that Trevor is gonna unleash holy hell on Da'Quan. Just bear with me though. I have more other projects that I want to finish before taking up the pen again on part two.

Yes there will be spinoffs from this story. The Bayou Brothers will probably have a short story. There will be more about Chris' greasy ass parents. I may do some freaky grown ass one shots of some of the couples that were mentioned in this book. It will probably be an ongoing anthology as I introduce more people from the Dominion Falls universe. I have big plans to write at least 13 more stories. I'm talking with my chest now but I'll probably be crying like a toddler when I get to writing all of this and get stuck!

Again, I appreciate each and every one of you. I was shaking like booty meat to post but I'm glad that I stepped out of comfort zone. I hope you rock with me for the next book. And the one after that... and after that... Well you get the picture!
