7:25.
5 minutes before Draco was supposed to come to your dorm. You decided to change out of your uniform into a tight fitting shirt and years old sweatpants.
"He better not have me waiting very long," you complained as you picked up some dirty socks and threw them into your hamper.
As soon as the clock struck 7:30, a knock came from your door. You quietly walked over to it and gently opened it.
"Draco, I wasn't expecting you to actually be on time." You opened the door wider and gestured for him to walk in.
"I um.. Hate being late." He said while making his way to your bed.
"Oh right.. I don't have a desk currently so i guess we'll have to do it on my bed." You sighed and pulled some papers out of your bag.
"Do.. it?" His voice seemed surprised and when you turned to face him, so did his face.
Was he blushing?
"Um yeah.. Studying?" You shook your head in confusion and finally made your way to the other side of your bed and laid down on your stomach.
"Right, that." He took a deep breath before pulling his potions book out of his bag as well.
"Are you alright? You've been acting kind of weird today." You glanced at him, genuinely worried.
"Uh- Just family stuff." He pursed his lips and started writing down in his notebook.
You simply nodded your head.
Although you two had never really gotten along, you had always known that his family was all kinds of messed up. You had heard the rumors, and even straight up facts that your parents had talked about during family dinners. They envied the Malfoys, wanted to be them more then anything.
You knew the truth, but you weren't about to spoil your families fantasies.
After a while of nonstop studying, you wanted to take a break.
"Hey Draco, would you like some tea? I don't really have a lot of options but I do have this one tea that is absolutely brilliant." You grinned in excitement at you stood up from your spot on the bed and walked over to where you held your tea.
"I guess... What is it?" You heard him get off your bed and step behind you.
His warm body pressed against yours slightly, his breath tickling your ear.
"It's um.." You couldn't get a proper sentence out, not with him touching you like this.
"Is that Earl Grey?" You felt his head lean forward, examining the tea you were making for him, while also pressing farther into your back.
"Yes, it's my favorite." You replied, finishing up the first cup.
"I guess we have more in common then i would have imagined." He chuckled, making his upper body vibrate slightly.
You rotated your body, now facing him. He stepped back an inch as you grabbed the tea and handed it to him. Slowly turning back around, you smiled to yourself.
"I hope you like it, although I wouldn't give two shits if you didn't." You teased, rolling your head back to glance at him.
He was quiet as he took his first sip, deep in thought. Suddenly the warm tea had been spit out of his mouth and onto your white shirt.
"Draco!" You stood in shock.
His face contorted and he lurched over, holding his hand to his mouth.
"That was so-" He held his eyes shut for a minute before opening one and giving you an amused smile. "Delicious!"
"Are you being serious right now? I have to throw this bloody shirt away now." You hissed through gritted teeth.
"At least that shirt was ugly."
"It's a white T-shirt!"
"Exactly my point."
"You are so-"
"Good looking? Gorgeous? Hunky? Personable? I could go on."
"Please. Don't."
You walked over to your dresser and grabbed a T-shirt an old friend had given you. You started to take your damp shirt off before Draco screamed.
"What the hell are you doing?" You whisper screamed.
"What the hell are you doing?" His eyes where wide as they darted around the room, looking everywhere but you.
"Changing? You got my shirt all dirty. Just turn around if you're really that uncomfortable."
You heard him sigh as he plopped down on your bed, tea in hand and facing away from you.
"I still can't believe you spat your tea that I made for you on me." You mumbled as you finished putting your new shirt on.
You decided you weren't going to make any for yourself because it was getting late. Speaking of which..
"It's getting dark, when do you think you will head out?" You laid back down on your mattress.
"Could I maybe uh.. stay a while longer?" He sat up. "I'm not really looking forward to being alone tonight."
Right. Family stuff.
"I get it. Stay as long as you need but please, no more spitting." You rolled your eyes as a smile grew on his face. "You owe me one, Malfoy."
You lazily casted a spell to turn your light off, settling down in your bed.
The room was filled with an awkward silence before you had had enough.
"Draco. You can lay under the covers if you want. I like sleeping with my window open so it gets cold in here at night." You propped yourself up on your elbow.
Without saying a word, he slowly slid under your blanket and rested his head on your pillow. He quietly stared at your ceiling.
"Do you remember that night at the astronomy tower? That night when I.." Draco couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence.
You looked down before saying,
"I remember. It was a mistake. Don't worry about it." You gave him a sad smile.
A mistake that left you wanting more...
You felt his fingers brush against yours, quickly pulling them away when he realized what he had done.
"Your hands are um.. really cold." He whispered.
You turned to lay on your back so you were now facing the ceiling as well.
You smiled when you saw them. The glow in the dark stars you had stuck to your ceiling your first year at Hogwarts.
"Do you ever wish you could run away from here?" Your voice barley came out as a whisper.
"All the time." He responded quietly.
