The mahogany door slowly creaked as you softly opened it. You felt the warm air from the inviting hallway rush over your skin, and you felt that homely warmth that came for free whilst in Kankri's home. A rare smile slowly crept onto your face as you padded out into the hallway. The floor was a fuzzy white carpet with cream-coloured walls. The area was illuminated brightly, and there were many family trinkets arranged tidily on mahogany furnishings against the wall. There were many pictures of Kankri and his partner, Cronus hung up on the walls. There was also the odd one with you in it as well. You admired the display of flowers, souvenirs, ornaments, and decor until you smelled a delightful, sweet aroma coming from the downstairs kitchen.

Breakfast.

You quietly continued to pad over to the mahogany, carpeted spiral staircase and made your way to the succulent aroma, your nose practically dragging you towards it.
You walked through another small hallway until you reached the opening to the kitchen/dining room/living room area.

You stepped in to the large area to be swamped by aromas and odors of decadence, and you knew that Kankri was cooking something special.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," Kankri cooed when he noticed you, turning his head to face you.

"I try. But it's really damn hard to with all of the noise outside." You reply.

Kankri chuckled a bit at this, and resumed tending to the succulent meal that he was preparing.

"Breakfast will be ready soon." Kankri said to you with care. You made a noise of understanding and walked over to the huge leather couch in the living room area. Cronus was sitting there, watching sports highlights.

"Sup, Karkat?" Cronus asks you in his classic laid-back tone.

"Eh, i don't know. Nothing really I guess." Is all that you can cone up with.

"Nothing? I heard you were heading to university! How is that not something?" He replies jokingly.

You just shrug.

"Ah, i'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. It's a riot." He says dismissively, returning his attention to the flatscreen TV.

You relaxed there for a bit, letting the warmth of your onesie cover you, giving you that cozy, comfortable feeling you love. Until Kankri broke up your trance.

"Breakfast is ready!"

You bolt over to the dining table where there are big servings of Belgian Waffles, fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, and huge slices of French Toast. It all looked so delicious, and you found yourself salivating an ocean just by looking at it.

You were going to regret this later.

You grab 2 waffles, 3 pancakes, a heap of scrambled eggs, and 3 french toasts before smothering them in chocolate syrup, whipped cream, male syrup, and honey. You dug in eagerly.

Time Skip:

You leaned back in your chair, absolutely stuffed. Kankri was a master chef, and he always made sure to satisfy his guests. Your tummy was rounded out and warm in your lap, squished against the fabric of your onesie. It grumbled in protest from the volume of food that you consumed, but it felt nice at the sane time. You let out a little burp of satisfaction, and Kankri takes away your plate.

"Be sure to bundle up before we leave, Karkat. Winter is on it's way."

It seems that you won't be so full for long, then.

You see, during the winter, a troll's metabolism slows down to almost nothing, allowing easy weight gain. This was for survival back on Alternia, since winters were incredibly lengthy and were cold enough to kill anyone within two minutes.

"Thanks for the food, Kankri." You say, a little dazed.

"No problem, Karkat. Now make sure you have everything packed and get ready."

You exit the area, and go back to your room.
