(9) The Party

Troy's POV

Waking up, I slowly stretch my arms and yawn, my hands clenching in the process.

I slowly open one eye, my vision still blurry.

As my open eye adjusts to the light, I take in my surroundings expecting to see my light blue walls but to my suprise the walls are a dark shade of grey.

" When did I change the color of the walls?" I thought to myself, rubbing my right eye.

As my eye shift from left to right " I take in more and more of the room slowly but surely becoming increasingly aware that this room is not mine.

While my eye continues to sweep the room, I take note of how large this room is, almost double the size of my room.

Opening my other eye , I let it adjust to the darkness.

Squinting my eyes, I try to locate a door but to no avail. Bearly two thirds of the room are visible to me because of the poor lighting, the only light source being the two lamps of either side of this King sized bed.

I look down and find that I'm in completely new clothes. I grasp the soft fabric in my hand, thinking to myself.....

" What the hell happened last night,"

" I'm sorry, Mr.Thomas, can you please repeat that again. It almost sounded like you said that I have to go to the New Year's Eve party this year instead of Mr. Gabbidon." I said.

" No, You heard correctly Mr.Williams." the CEO, Mr.Thomas said.

" Petrona is the host for this year's New Year Eve party. All major corporate companys will be attending this event, our company included. Originally Mr.Gabbidon was supposed to go and represent our company however, he had to take an emergency leave from work due to his health."

" But why me, sir" I asked still in disbelief.

" You did an excellent job as the company's representative when you attended the convention at Hive Inc."
he said.

" Your preformance was beyond what I had anticipated and this is a test of sorts for you. An opportunity for you to climb the ranks. With Mr.Gabbidon gone until further notice I want to make you the representative of our company but first I need to see if you are able to handle it. Hence your test will be attending the New Years Eve party and building connections there." he continued.

" The Major 5 companies will be there . Acquaint yourself with their representatives and with luck you may land us a deal with one of them." He finished.

To be completely honest I was shocked, definitely shocked but once the initial reaction was over I started to become excited. This could be a big stepping stone in my career.

" I understand sir" I said.

" Is their anything in particular I need to know about this party" I asked, genuinely curious.

" Yes actually" Mr.Thomas replied. " "Petrona has announced that the theme for the New Years Eve party this year is Masquerades. You will be required to where a mask of some sort in order to attend this party. "

" Noted sir." I reply.

" So when exact is this party to be held " I asked.

" The party is tonight, at 8 pm sharp" Mr.Thomas said standing to his feet.

" This is the invitation card for the party. Keep it close, without it you can't get in, understood?" he says.

" Understood sir," I replied taking the card from him.
