Do you believe in the impossible?
If not, then you better start believing, because the impossible is about to happen to Nico and I.
There are a lot of things in our world that we could never explain, that we would never comprehend. I didn't believe in such things in the past. Not because I didn't want to, but because I had no reason to.
Then, I met Nico. And the first in the series of impossible events happened in my life; I fell in love with him, with a boy like me. After that, one by one, the impossible kept on coming into my life.
The revelation of the truth that I, indeed, disappeared on the lake I used to swim in four years ago was simply the beginning of it all, and what was waiting for me, was something even bigger, even more impossible, something beyond my comprehension.
With everything that was happening in my life, and with everything that was yet to happen, there was only one thing that kept me strong; Nico's love.
Nico's love... Somehow saying those words still makes my heart flutter. Just thinking about it gives me butterflies in the stomach. If there's one impossible thing that I am really grateful for, it's Nico loving me.
I never thought that I would hear those words from Nico that soon. I even thought that I would never get to hear it. When I did, everything around me seized to matter. I was drowning in joy, and I loved the feeling.
But... even that love would not be enough to prepare me for what was yet to come.
It all started days before the homecoming/Halloween dance. Everyone was excited; that year, every student in attendance must wear a costume indicated in the ticket that they bought. It was exciting for most of the students, not for me though.
Why? Because it combines two of the things I hate the most; formal dances and wearing a costume. Whoever thought of that idea for the homecoming dance must be really out to annoy me.
I know, I could just not go and save myself from getting annoyed over such a thing, but it's not that easy. Because unlike me, Nico loves those two things.
Before I could even tell him that I had no plans in attending the dance, Nico had already purchased the ticket for the two of us, he even was already planning how to match our two totally different costumes.
Nico bought tickets indicating a medieval prince costume and a comic superhero costume. Frankly, I can't decide which of the two ideas I hate the most. I would rather go naked than to wear any of those costumes.
"What about this; I'll go as the medieval prince all in black, and you go as black Spiderman?" Nico said as we ate our lunch together.
"I already wear tight swimwear every day during swim practice, I don't want to wear tights during the dance too," I complained.
"Then I'll go as the medieval prince in blue and red and you'll go as Superman."
"Wow, an underwear over tights, that's way better," I said sarcastically.
"You two are going nowhere," Levi complained. "Why doesn't Nico just wear a superhero costume and Kyle wear the medieval prince one," He suggested.
"There's too many garments in the medieval prince costume, plus a cape. It would be a hurdle just to walk," I complained.
"That's why," Nico said.
"I don't think Kyle would agree on wearing any superhero costume, considering that most of them wear tights," Evan said. "I'll even bet that he'll find things that he doesn't like in any costume." He was right. I just really hate wearing any costume.
