AHSOKA TANO-BONTERI
Ahsoka was ready for the mission.
The night before had been a bit of a rough one. Ahsoka woke up in the middle of the night again after Ezra threw another hissy-fit in the middle of the night. The boy definately missed his home.
Well, that and the fact he was a month old baby, and everyone knows how those behave.
Katooni was also a little scared. She couldn't blame her, she was still quite young for missions.
And then there was Lux. While he hadn't finished his training yet, Ahsoka felt it best to take him either way, since he did need some more experience.
Still, Ahsoka was a little worried things could take a turn for the worse. She could handle an Inquisitor or two on her own, but not an army of Clones or pirates.
She would just have to hope for the best.
Instead of donning her traditional Jedi robes, she put on her combat suit Lux gave her on Onderon.
Ahsoka walked back into the room with Lux.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"Sure thing," he replied. "Where's Katooni?"
"I don't know," Ahsoka said. "I haven't checked yet."
"Let's go get her, then," Lux said.
The two walked off of the ship. They didn't have to go far to find Katooni.
She was asleep in the grass right next to Pedro.
Ahsoka couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, Katooni," Ahsoka said, nudging her with her foot.
Katooni quickly woke up.
"Huh?" she said, rubbing her eyes.
"It seems you unintentionally found a good spot to sleep last night," Ahsoka joked.
"Hey," Katooni replied. "It's not my fault the grass here is so soft!"
Pedro woke up next to Katooni, and he rubbed his eyes.
"We got to go, Katooni," Ahsoka continued. "I'll give you a bit to get ready."
"I know," Katooni replied. "I... I didn't mean to fall asleep there. It's just the grass was so soft, and things felt peaceful for once..."
"I have to agree with her," Pedro said, flashing her a smile.
Katooni smiled back at him.
"Go on," Ahsoka continued, "get ready."
"Okay," Katooni said, walking over to her tent.
Pedro left as well.
"Do you think there's something starting to spark between those two?" Lux asked when they both were far enough away.
"Well, they only just turned thirteen," Ahsoka said. "But yeah, I can definitely see the start of something between those two."
"When do you think it's gonna happen?" Lux asked.
"Maybe a few more years," Ahsoka said. "We fell in love back when I was around sixteen or seventeen. It's hard to imagine, now. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday, you know? Back when we rode our Rupings, watched the sunset, and kissed and held each other dearly because we didn't know if we'd ever be able to see each other again..."
"It's a good thing we did," Lux said. "If we never fell in love, maybe things would have been a lot different. Maybe you wouldn't have been able to save the order. Maybe the clones would have killed you. I don't know, there's just so many things that could have happened. I'm just glad I ended up with you in the long run."
"Me too," Ahsoka said, putting her arm around his shoulder.
The two watched over the green plains of the Jedi Camp, watching the some of the younglings.
Eventually, Katooni came out of her tent.
"Ready to go?" Ahsoka asked.
"Yep," Katooni said, nodding.
"Good," Ahsoka continued. "Let's get going."
Suddenly, there was a string of beeps and boops from behind Ahsoka. She turned around to see her astromech droid, R7-A7.
"I said I'd tell you when we're ready," Ahsoka said, responding to the droid. "You didn't have to interrupt me like that."
R7 beeped again.
"Yes, I know it sounded like I was just about to leave without you," Ahsoka said. "But I was going to get you just now, I promise."
The droid beeped a final time before heading to the ship.
"Okay," Ahsoka said. "Now we can get going."
And the three went into the ship.
Ahsoka walked into the ship's cockpit, and Lux sat in the co-pilot's seat. Katooni took a seat behind them, and R7 plugged himself into a nearby outlet.
Ahsoka pushed a few buttons, and the ship started to hover above the ground.
"Isn't this thing just a space tow truck?" Lux asked. "this thing's superstructure is probably gonna fall apart if we put it into any crazy maneuvers."
"These things are a lot more combat-ready than you think," Ahsoka replied, pulling some levers.
The ship flew away from the Jedi Camp, and the younglings waved their master goodbye.
"Just be ready to man the guns if anything starts shooting at us," Ahsoka continued.
"Aren't there only three of us, and two turrets? Who's going to be the copilot?"
"R7 can handle that," Ahsoka said, as the droid let out a happy beep.
Ahsoka then calculated her hyperspace trajectory.
"Florrum is pretty much straight on the other side of the Galaxy," Lux said. "Does this thing have enough fuel for the round trip?"
"Of course it does," Ahsoka replied. "We've got fuel for days."
Ahsoka then pulled a lever on the ceiling, and the ship went off into hyperspace.
