My mother and I woke up early the next morning to get ready. My father had already left for Nuoding City. After we were done getting ready my mother handed me a dagger and a small bottle filled with a light green liquid. "What is this," I asked. "It's an antidote in case we come in contact with poison." my mother answered. "How are we going to get to the forest," I asked. "We'll go by wagon," my mother answered.

Time Skip to 1 hour later

This ride was taking longer than I expected. Then I remembered something. "Mom if your weakness is attack power how are we going to kill a soul beast? Aren't they really powerful?" I asked. "Ying Ying, not all soul beasts are animals and some soul beasts are very weak. Even so, I won't be doing the killing," she said looking at me. It took me a moment to realize what she was talking about.

"Me! But I can barely even kill a fly at home. There's no way!" I yelled. "That was before you unlocked your spirits. Even if your fox spirit is weak if I use my Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to boost you it shouldn't be a problem. And only the person that defeats the soul beast can take its soul ring," my mother answered calmly. I couldn't believe it. My mother was expecting me to kill not one but two soul beasts. This was going to be a long day.

Time skip to forest

We had finally arrived at the forest after 2 hours of bumpy roads. I really miss cars. When we got out of the wagon I was surprised that there were many groups of people here. Then I remembered that the school year was starting soon so everyone was probably hoping to get a good spirit before that. We got in line behind everyone and waited for our turn.

When it was almost our turn I heard the people at the front desk asking for everyone's level. "Mom what level are you," I asked. "Oh! I'm only level 64," she answered. I looked at my mother with a shocked expression. My mother was only 38 and she was already level 64. Most people at her age were only around level 50, I definitely underestimated her.

After giving our information we headed into the forest. And wow! It was like we were in a completely different world.

My mother gave a little chuckle before continuing into the forest

My mother gave a little chuckle before continuing into the forest. As we walked I saw a couple of soul beasts but none of them attacked. "Ignore them," my mother said, " all of them are just decade soul beasts."

We continued walking until my mother stopped in front of a tree sapling that was giving off a light blue aura. "Looks like we got lucky. It seems to be a 200 year old poisonous starlight tree," my mother said. How could something so pretty be poisonous I thought? "Ying Ying why don't you use this as your Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda soul ring," my mother asked. "Why not. So all I have to do is kill it and absorb its power," I said. "Yes, but absorbing its power won't be easy. You have to stay focused," she said.

"Don't worry mom I'm sure I'll be fine," I said. I then took out my dagger and tried to cut it down but it just wouldn't cut. "Why don't you try adding your soul power to the dagger," my mother suggested.

I did as I was told and it cut almost instantly. Okay. This could come in handy. I then sat down I did my best to remember how to absorb its power. First I have to fell for the power and slowly will it towards me and into Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. It was a lot harder than I thought but I eventually managed to do so. When I woke up nearly 60 minutes had gone by.

My mother seemed relieved when she saw me wake up. "What skill did you get," she asked. "I can make any 4 people or objects of my choosing including me have 10% increases strength for 30 minutes at max and they'll be poison resistant," I answered with a smile. My mother nodded in approval. "Now we need to find one for your fox spirit. This will most likely be more difficult. Don't hesitate to use your soul ring," she said.

We then headed deeper into the forest. We encountered some soul beasts but none of them fit my spirit or those who did were too weak.

We were about to give up when a beautiful blue deer showed up. "That's a starlight deer. It seems to be around 300 years old. We really are lucky today. This one will be perfect for your fox. Be ready to fight," my mother said. I brought out my Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda and activated my first soul ring. I felt myself grow stronger. Then my mother used her second soul ring to increase my speed.

I took out my dagger a ran towards the starlight deer at full speed. If I could see myself I'm sure I would look like a blur but the deer still managed I dodge. It went like this for about 10 minutes without any luck. I couldn't take it anymore so I decided to put my all into one final attack. I put all my soul power into it the dagger and used my first soul ring on the dagger and then threw it at the deer.

My mother noticed what I was doing and used her second soul ring to help out. I thought it was going to miss but to my delight, it pierced straight through the deer. My mother and I smiled at each other before walking over to the deer. I began to absorb its power but it was much more difficult than last time. I had nightmare after nightmare. When I finally managed to fully absorb the soul ring I was completely covered in sweat.

The sun had already set when I woke up. When I woke up my mother ran over to me and gave me a hug. We decided to head start home. During the ride, my mother asked me what soul ring ability I had.

I grinned and said, "It's a charm ability. Anyone who looks into my eyes will become sleepy and they can't use their soul rings." "It may not be a direct attack but if you use it correctly it could be very useful. Just remember to not use your other spirit," my mother said. "Mom you've told me that already. I promise not to use it, so please stop reminding me," I whined. My mother then spent the rest of the trip reminding me.

Time Skip

When we finally got back home it was already dark. "Finally," I said. When we came into the house my father was already back and he was making some rice for dinner. I immediately ran over to him and asked, "How much longer till the rice is done?" "It'll be done in a little bit. Go wash up and change or you not eating today." my father said looking at my dirty clothes and messy hair. I quickly went to my room to wash up.

When I went back into the kitchen my mother and father were already eating. I sat down and began to eat as quickly as possible. "Calm down. No one is going to take it from you," my parents said chuckling. After we finished eating we began to discuss about me going to Nuoding Academy.

"The school year starts in 1 month. Until then you should try to raise your level as much as possible," my father said. My mother nodded in agreement. "What level are you right now? You should be at the 11th level or the 12th level at most," my mother said. "I'm at the 14th level," I said. My parents just stared at me with shocked expressions.

"It may have something to do with you having twin spirits," my mother said. We remained silent for a moment, then my father said, "We should also train your body and teach you martial arts." I nodded and decided to go to bed.

Time Skip 1 month

The last month flew by in a blink of an eye. Over the month I had to train every single day or I wouldn't be allowed to eat. My hard work paid. I could now be considered a martial arts master and I'm now getting closer and closer to the 15th level. Both my parents and I were shocked at how fast I was growing in power. I've can even manage to use my first soul ring on command now.

Today I was leaving for Nuoding Academy.
