401 - File Not Found「Kasane Teto Story」

Teto and Neru were still in the shop. Neru was left near the counter, talking to the store assistants while Teto was scouring in the miscellaneous section, burning her time by looking at all the items displayed in the aisles and in the tables.

Even though she has no actual business at the shop to come by, she agreed to accompany her friend, besides to the fact that even if she won't come out with Neru, the same boredom will haunt her back at the house.

Teto thought that she'll just find some items; the instruments they are using in their recording, some spare materials that she can purchase, just in case when needed.

She goes further in and found a mini stage. It has some average sized blue speakers at the sides, a music sheet stand, a microphone, a flat screen hanging at the center stage and some musical instruments such as checkered guitar, a rainbow designed synthesizer and an electric bass. She walked closer to the stage and touched the pamphlet resting in the metal music sheet stand.

Reading the content of it, a smile was casted on Teto's face. She had read that if a person was able to top the score posted on the screen, which at the moment was currently at 69,092 points, she could take home one of the instruments laid on the stage as a reward.

Returning the pamphlet, she then realized that it was a great deal at this moment because if she managed to beat the score, she could bring another asset back home - for free, else even she didn't make it, at least she had an opportunity to practice outside.

"It's worth a try than to just wander around here in circles." she said, walking in the center of the stage.

She opened the songbook next to the pamphlet, resting alo on the music sheet stand. She browsed the middle section of the songbook and picked. She thought of having herself a challenge so she chose the song "Six Trillion Years and Overnight Story by IA" , which in that instance was pretty fast. She have heard of the song one time on the radio so she had an idea on how the song will flow.

She entered the song code in the keypad and when the music started to fill the entire instruments shop, Neru and the others were somewhat halted from what they were doing.

Neru just stand there, waiting whose voice would resonate across the establishment.

The attendant made a short smile, " I guess someone's want to beat the record!"

"Wha-what record?" the curious Neru queried, wanting to know more.

Just as the attendant was about to answer, Neru heard a familiar voice singing the intro of the song, it was Teto, who was challenging the current high score.

"Teto!?"

"You know her?"

"Yeah. She's my friend and band mate."

"She is the vocalist?" the attendant asked Neru while still listening to Teto's performance.

"Sometimes...." Neru muttered.

"So you are a small group... I guess?"

"More than small," she replied. Looking from where the sound was coming from, "maybe a 'budder' if you allow."

The attendant just made a short laugh, "Every great artists, began at the grassroots. So that's cool I guess that the two of you are on a band."

While the chorus of the song approaches, Neru and the attendant were silenced, waiting if she could sing the chorus right.

When they had heard that Teto manages to clear the chorus with no problem, the attendant was just blown - away.

"What the heck did Teto had eaten on their house that made her challenge the current record on that song?" Neru just said in astonishment.

"The faster the song and the more difficult the lyrics are, the higher the score you can obtain. So that song would probably - or maybe - break the high score." the attendant explained.

"Which is....." Neru trailed off, pertaining on what the score was.

The attendant smiled at Neru, "It's not that high, it's just around... sixty nine thousand!"

"What the HECK! Sixty-nine FREAKING THOUSAND!" she yelled back, shocked.

The attendant held both Neru's shoulders, "Whoa, whoa--- Neru. Calm down. It's not that difficult - I guess so - to your friend Teto. Just have faith at your buddy okay?"

"Hmp. Fine." replied she, crossing both of her arms and kept listening, waiting on what's gonna happen when the song ends.
