It was never a good idea to act on a whim, let alone when your thoughts are clouded from sleep deprivation.
Yet here you stood, the basement of an apartment with a stranger.
"My mom's on one of the floors working, but you'll meet her soon" the tall male spoke, his words smooth and..comfortable.
You definitely felt a tension now that Sal was in his own room.
Maybe things would've gone different if you said you wanted to stay with him instead.
You gave a nod as you looked around, your eyes landing on the picture of ehat had to be his mother.
"You guys look so similar" you said, paying no mind to the fact that Larry had opened his bedroom door.
His arms were folded, and he leaned against his doorframe with eyes that wandered down your body.
You got the chills.
Even more so when your name slipped out of his mouth like butter.
"I thought you were tired" he said in a mocking tone.
"I am, I just feel tense" you retaliated in a hushed tone, allowing yourself to walk into Larry's room.
Right offhand, the smell of incense rushed up your nose, followed by the smell that the incense was trying to hide.
"Did a hippie hotbox your room?" You asked with a soft laugh, regretting your choice to look over at him for a reaction.
His eyes were so glued to you, in the most sensual way possible.
"I smoke on occasion. It's just a plant, and it helps with..what'd you call it, being tense?".
He seemed to have the best remarks, for absolutely no reason.
A smile spread across your lips as you scanned the room.
"You're an artist too".
"Too?"
You nod, placing your backpack near his bed.
"Yeah, I'm not as basic as you think".
You didn't really mean for your words to come out like that, but it still hurt to know that both of the boys see you as eye-candy.
"I don't know why you think that. You have a very unique look to you, why do you think Sal and I were so interested?"
He asked, patting the bed once he had taken a seat.
You accepted his silent offer, resting yourself beside him.
You didn't want to explain yourself, you were too tired and frankly, no matter what you'd say would be wrong in his eyes.
"Larry, I know that once I get some rest I'll be a lot more enthusiastic about getting to know you and stuff. I just can't comprehend shit when I'm running on 4 hours of sleep".
You were even talking with your eyes closed, up until you heard the familiar sound of a lighter.
"And you're hitting a joint right next to me" you laugh, looking at the brown haired teen take a large puff.
"Here, you can hit it before you sleep. Do you want me to take the bean bag?" He asked once he exhaled.
You hated to be so touch-starved, but butterflies rustled in your stomach when your hands touched to pass the joint.
"Just sleep next to me, you're not a killer" you said with full confidence, staring back at Larry while you took a puff from the joint.
The fact that you could make eye contact with him now was progress enough.
"Fuck yeah, come here kitty cat" he spoke in the most excited tone you had heard from him yet. He had laid down with his arms sprawled out, waiting for your company.
"Kitty cat" you repeated, handing back the joint before you hesitantly settled yourself into his arms.
Platonically.
...right?
"A lost little kitty who deserves better".
His words seemed to hurt you, and you didn't know why.
Maybe it was because you weren't used to validation, or maybe because it didn't feel like a cute pet name once he explained it that way.
"Larry, go to bed" you said softly, your head falling beside him on the pillow.
His arms were quick to comfort you, the feeling of fingers in your hair being enough to send you straight to sleep.
"I'm on it" he smiled, a very gentle laugh escaping his lips as he closed his eyes.
If only you believed these boys were any different from the others.
If only you could trust.
