Chapter 2- Covers

Cole's POV

I was so excited for Capri, I know I just met her but there was something different about her. I can't quite place it but I there is. Her voice was so beautiful and I just want to know her more. Hm, maybe I should talk to her more?

"Who more?" Dalton asked me. Oops, talked out loud again.

"Oh, no one. So Capri's going to be in a duo with another girl?" I asked Dalton as I leaned back on the couch.

"Yeah, she's in a meeting with her right now, they should be out soon" Dalton said. We were waiting in one of the conference rooms at XIX for Capri and her partner.

"Cool, so, does Capri have a boyfriend?" I asked absent-mindedly.

" Dude, do you like her?" Dalton asked as he turned around in his chair to face me.

"Uh, maybe?" I said avoiding eye contact.

"Fine, don't tell me, I will find out! Why? BECAUSE I AM DALTON LOUIS RAPATTONI!" He yelled.

"Shhhhhh!" Gabe said.

He stuck his tongue out at him and sipped his juice box.

"Hey guys!" Capri said as she walked in with a girl with dark brown hair with highlights at the bottom. She was wearing a pokemon tshirt, black jeans, and black converse. She seemed shy and was quiet. I looked at the other guys and I could tell Will was trying his hardest not to fanboy about her shirt.

"This is Sabrina, but you can call her Sabbi. She's my partner in our duo. Sabbi, that's Cole, Gabe, Dalton, Dana and Will" Capri said as she pointed to each of us as she named us.

"Hey, Sabbi, you can sit with me if you want." Will said as he blushed, like Sabbi was. Aww. Meanwhile Capri sat next to me and started to hum.

"whatcha humming?" I asked.

"Oh, um, Red by Taylor Swift, I kinda want to do a cover of it, but I don't know if Sabbi wants to" She sighed.

"Well, you could do a cover of it, just ask her. She's over there"I said nudging her a bit.

She got up and walked over to her. They started talking and Sabbi nodded and Capri skipped back over to me.

"She say yes?" I asked.

She nodded and I got up. "Capri and Sabbi are gonna do a cover of Red by Taylor Swift!" I announced to everyone. "Coole! Why'd you have to tell everyone!" She said as she poked me. "Hey! I wanna come too!" Dalton, Dana,and Gabe said. She nodded and I took her hand. I felt sparks and I could tell she felt them too. She looked at me, blushed, then looked away. We ran to the recording studio and I gave her the tour. We introduced her and Sabbi to the technicians

"So here's the both and the mic. You can sit and sing, or stand if you want." Dalton said as I looked for the instrumental version of Red. They put the headphones on, gave us a thumbs up, and started to sing.

Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song

Fighting with him was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there's no right answer

Regretting him was like wishing you never found out love could be that strong

Losing him was blue like I'd never known

Missing him was dark grey all alone

Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you've never met

But loving him was red

Oh red burning red

Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes

Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go

But moving on from him is impossible

When I still see it all in my head

Cause love was like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street" She and Sabbi sang the last note. Capri was crying a bit and Dalton walked over to her and started to talk to her and he hugged her. I ran over to her and hugged her.

"What's wrong? You and Sabbi did an awesome cover!" I said.

" Oh, it's nothing. I gotta go, my mom wants me to get home," she said as she wiped her tears away."Do you need a ride?" Dalton asked. She nodded . We said bye to the guys and Sabbi. I went with them since Dalton and I were gonna have a sleepover. I sat with her in the back but she just looked out the window. I just wanted to hold her and tell her eveything was alright.

We got to her house and we said bye. "See you tommorow?" I asked. "Yep. Bye Cole. Bye Dalton." She said as she walked toward her house.

The rest of the night I couldn't keep my mind off of her.

"Hey Cole. You ok?" Dalton asked.

"Yeah. Why was Capri crying earlier?" I asked as we watched Adventure Time.

"Well, you should ask her. But don't expect her to say right away." He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck.

" I'm kinda tired so I'm gonna sleep. Night!" I said as I walked into Dalton's room and lay down in my sleeping bag. I didn't sleep much because I could only think of one person.
