Atlas, here we are
As a little child you were terrified
Trembling in a corner hugging your knees
Blinking at your shadows, begging them to leave
But it struck you, as a little child
How massive the world is
And how little you are
It struck you, as a little child
How music can be blasphemous
For whispering praises to the stars
And God looked upon us
Holding hands and hugging tight
Never bearing the pressure of light, never asking for forgiveness and just
I found you in a corner hugging your knees to your chest
Whimpering in a corner as the voices hovered and your thoughts burned your chest
Caught in the fire
Then your lungs heaved and your cheeks bitten raw
Your eyes seemed alight as the hollow spread out through your torso
I found you in a corner hugging your knees to your chest
I called out for you but you were cold in unrest
Has it struck you as a little child
That you will carry a world so bright
Full of gloom and floating balloons
And fluttering stars next to the moon
Has it struck you as a little child
Your fate in those confused brown eyes
Has it struck you the beauty of the globe
And the palms you hold
Atlas, here we are
Your destination is ecliptic
And your dance is celestial
Atlas, close your eyes and see
The world you carried along the way
It will strike you as a youthful prince,
How lovely it is to walk this ground in strides and baby steps
Atlas, you have arrived and your cage is unlocked
Fetch your heart and play the strings
Atlas, you are a king and this world is yours to explore
Be a human, for once and for all
Atlas, don't forget who has tugged your hand in dawn
And sang you lullabies into the dusk
Has it struck you as a little child
How fear triggers curiosity and curiosity unveils the truth
And how wrapping yourself in gold, can never save you from claws
Atlas, be human and just
Close your eyes and flatten your hand across your abdomen
Listen to the song of the universe that dwells within your soul
Knock my door and speak in volumes
Atlas, tell me how the God has been treating you lately
Tell me how you're a volcano in an ocean
And you're an ocean in a desert
Tell me your secrets and I'll dwell them in my ears
Forever to be repeated, forever safe
Atlas, I beg of you to hold my hand
Your times of need are over
And mine has just begun
You carried your world swiftly and now
I desperately ask you to carry mine
