Dining Room.

Nervously he walked into the room, the constant buzzing of a lonely fluorescent light bounced around the slightly moist walls scratching away at his sanity as he opened the old wooden door before him that almost sagged off its hinges, it creaked loudly, a stark contrast to his footsteps, barely audible in the shag carpet.

He decided to rest on the old, dirty couch, one of the only things in the room save a rotting dining table and a box Tv laying hopelessly next to its stand that lightly illuminated an already poorly lit room showing nothing but silent static.

The couch was covered in a cold plastic wrapping layered with a thin film of dust, it's flower pattern still intact after so long. He sat and looked around at the room.

A red stain on the carpet near the table caught his attention, it was too bright to be blood; it looked more like a juice stain. The barely functioning tv displayed the channel number, Channel 5 huh? Didn't that channel use to play kids shows?

His eyes were drawn to a scuffed painting above the broken Tv stand of Jesus Christ. The frame looked old, the dirty glass had a huge crack in it, it didn't look like it was taken care of at all.

The walls were dusty, some were covered in crayon, green must have been their favourite.

He looked up and observed the wall behind the couch as dust fell onto his face, a broken window covered in newspaper so tightly it couldn't offer any light to the dim room, glass shards were neatly gathered on the carpet under the windowsill, as if someone had swept them up and forgot to dispose of them.

He briefly scanned the room once more, thinking quietly to himself, "If these walls could talk, they'd laugh and reminisce the stories of the who lived in them.", but they can't, and those people are long gone by now.

Their stories shall remain unheard, and one day...there will be nobody left to remember them.
