I waited patiently for Kel. He seemed taken aback by the statement but it had been at least several days since I had fed on any sustenance. Not that I couldn't eat food and derive some nutrition from it. I can, it does  make me feel somewhat better. All my bodily functions are normal. I just have this added need for blood. Almost like a woman  with her favorite sweet, then they turn into murdering psychos when they go too long without. Emphasis on murdering psycho in my case.

The idea of being bound to the bed was not entirely comfortable, but I could meet him halfway if he could at least help me satiate this thirst beginning to gnaw at my stomach. A hyper awareness seemed to settle over me and I found I could no longer just focus on the conversation, it was more like I was watching him but eye balling the vein in his neck. I shook my head. I could handle this.

He seemed to think about it for a moment then nodded, and gestured at the bed. I followed his direction, trying not to let my anticipation or my anxiety show. I sat down in the middle, with my back against the wall.

"Is this okay?" I asked, not entirely sure how exactly this would work. He nodded his head, horns trapping wild hair against the wind and he disappeared out of the room only to return a moment later with manacles. I eyed them, my palms itching. Was it that I had spent so long on that ice box of a planet and the idea of being bound again scared me? I held my wrists out so he could secure them, and once he locked them into place, he stretched them far out to either side of me, attaching them to the rail at the end of the bed. Well. This was. Secure.

He sighed, and clambered onto the bed, and sat down in front of me, staring at me. I watched him, curious but wary. If he wanted to kill me, he could. Right now. Who knows if the virus would save me then? He drew his blade and with a smooth motion, cut shallowly into the skin at his shoulder, then leaned forward.

"You gave me your word. Keep it." He growled at me, his face wasn't angry. He was unsure, that much was for sure but he seemed to understand that I had no choice in this matter. I nodded, and licked my lips before pressing them to the wound. My canines grazed against the tender flesh, and I gave a soft suckle to ensure the blood was still flowing. Then I locked on and began to drink deeply, the points of my canines digging into the wound to ensure it stayed open and bleeding. Kel grunted as I dug in deeper, and his tail coiled onto itself before settling into a steady irritated flick against the bed. My eyes tracked the tails' movements as I drank. I was nearly ready to take a deeper bite when he pulled away.

"Enough, I'm..." Kel fell forward into my chest, horns knocking into my chin. Did he pass out? Or was he just dizzy? I wasn't sure. My heart beat rapidly in my chest as the thought of being stuck here with a dead partner flashed through my mind. Oh please no. I didn't want to be stuck here again.

"Kel? Are you okay? Did I take too much?" I asked softly, trying to jostle him slightly to get a response. He was breathing. So that was a good sign. He stirred, and tilted his head to avoid goring me with one of his horns, and peeked at me from the corner of his eye as he adjusted himself to lay on his side.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I under estimated how much I could give. I was sure I was strong enough to handle more." He seemed upset with himself, and I just stared at him startled. He wanted to give me more?

"I'm not your responsibility to keep track of. If you can't safely feed me, I will have to find someone else, but that's okay and I-"

"NO." He growled, his tail flicking again. Flick. Flick. He sat up slowly, rubbing his head. "I can do it. I will only need practice." He braced his hand against the wall behind me, and pushed himself up and off of me. The palor of his normally gray skin had become almost white, and the color to his gums had leeched pale as well. I shook my head.
"You need help, if you hadn't have restrained me I could have already put a line of synth blood in and you'd be recovering. Computer!" I shouted, as Kel winced, still holding himself in place.
