Samantha Robinson aka Sam, was the sporty, outgoing and occasionally nerdy, average highschooler at Gibson High. She had a an amazing family that comprised of her overprotective father who rattled all the guys she had brought home, down to the core.
Her Mother, she was deeply loved by her father. Sam always admired her parents and wanted love to be as beautiful as the one she had seen blossom at home.
Her twin brother, Sommers was a minute and a half older than her. They were called the Robinson duo and were a nightmare, especially during the holidays when the frenzy of the festival would be the perfect canvas for their pranks.
They held the place for the craziest pranksters ever.
They had set spaghetti on fire, made an unsuspecting Aunt Brenda sit on a live chameleon, they hid in the tree in their garden for two complete days, refusing to come down because they didn't want to go to school, graffitied the back of their principal's bald head and... in short were a terror to the Robinson household.
Next came the younger batch of twins, Joshua and Emily Robinson, four years younger than the older twins. They were the quieter more reflective part of the family. Always attached by the hip, they could actually finish each others sentences, opposed to Sam and Sommers, who despite being close could not.
The Robinsons. The perfect family in the city who could send you in a state of mind-grillededness by their chaotic evenings, but would also melt your heart by their love for each other. They lived in a three storied home, that along with being a beautiful house was also a home.
All was jolly and fine until one cold autumn evening...
Senior year would begin in two weeks, thought Sam. She was looking forward to the new year like always, because she had a new, unsuspecting batch of freshmen to prank.
Her family had come to the nearby park, and boy was it beautiful this time of year. The reddish leaves were falling and it was becoming colder as the sun set.
She was snuggly dressed in a sweater and leggings as she sat on swing, lost in thought but also keeping an eye on Summers fooling around with the younger twins by the merry-go-round.
She was looking forward to college, she wanted to major in the performing arts. Dancing, theatre- you name it. And she was not wrong in doing so, she had a way with the crowd who would be mesmerized with her every move, be it a prank or a clever mimicry of the history teacher.
But she also knew that she had to tone down her pranks and become less of a menace, if she wanted to get into her dream college- Harvard. She had been taught to aim high and she did believe that she could make it.
A cold gusts of wind stopped her train of thoughts as she slightly shuddered. Was it just her or was it becoming difficult to breathe? She brushed it off, as Joshua and Summers shouted at her to join them and complete the four- seater merry-go-round.
She nodded and walked over to them, drinking in the sight of her parents sitting on a nearby bench. Her mother rambling about the weird shapes of the clouds and her father looking fondly upon her face. She inwardly laughed, her father would listen intently even if mum was talking about something as interesting as dog walking policies.
She took some deep breaths, the air wasn't quite getting to her lungs...
"Hey Sam, how about making it here this year?" Sommers stated as Emily was laughing her foot off. She tended to laugh at the silliest thing, but we all found that the most refreshing sound even though it was as common as garden mosquitoes.
" Yeah no, I've deprived the all of you enough with my absence " She grinned as she lowered herself into the seat.
"All aboard!" Exclaimed Joshua.
