Today was the end of the first week of summer break and you could say that atmosphere in the Haddock house has been awful.
Summer and dad had a fight earlier this week that ended in tears so Summer has been avoiding dad the rest of the week.
I've been having continuous nightmares about Summer dying which means I haven't had a good nights rest in a while.
But at least one good thing came from this week.
I sent an email off to a scouts group on monday and yesterday I revived an email back saying that I was excepted for the trip.
So that means I will be going on a two week scouts trip with Luna and Eleanor since they got accepted to.
Summer didn't want to go after the fight she had with dad this week she has locked herself in her room ever since dad and her had that fight.
I grabbed my backpack which had the scots logo on it telling us which out of the three group we had been put into.
The scouts was the hardest one to get into only excepting 150 people, Luna and Eleanor had been accepted into the scouts team too.
Scouts was only for the most experienced people and for people who knew what they were doing.
I had been in a scouting team before but never one this hard to get into.
I put my backpack with the last of my supplies next to my camping bag before sneaking out my bedroom and heading downstairs.
I sneaked past mom and dad who were on the couch talking about how to deal with Summer and her attitude.
I headed outside and into the back yard.
Last week me and Summer got to pick out a horse for a pet. I wasn't so sure at first but then I thought I might need a companion at times and besides this would be my last chance to see her before I head off to the meetup area this afternoon.
I walked into the stables and saw my horse Cher Ami in her stall waiting for me. Cher Ami was a spotted painted pinto her name meant "dear friend" in French. In World War I there was a famous homing pigeon named Cher Ami that delivered messages for the United States Army Signal Corps and I thought it would be perfect since she was like my dear friend.
I walked over to her stall and patted her nose which she nickered happily at as a response.
Oh did I forget to mention that the trip was a cycling trip so I have to ride a bike around this massive island for two weeks.
A soft whining noise brought me back to reality.
I looked up at Cher Ami and saw her looking at something with her eyes.
I looked behind me and saw Summer walking into the stables to see her horse Argo.
"Hey sis" I greeted her but she barely answered with only a single nod.
I shook it off since I didn't really want to get involved in what was going on at the moment between her and dad.
She walked over and lightly patted Argo's head before giving him a treat.
Both of our horses had names that had meaning behind them. Argo was the horse of Xena in the television series "Xena, Warrior Princess." Argo was faithful, intelligent, and brave in battle.

My phone suddenly went off in my pocket and I saw that Luna would be here any minute now. The text message I got was also from her.
