I was in panic looking at all the heated flames around me. The air was getting hotter and thicker with each moment. For the wood of the house was fueling the fire. Smoke was making it hard to see and my eyes watered trying to clear it. I fell to my hands and knees in the middle of the floor coughing. Trying to draw in air. I could no longer feel air in my lungs only smoke and ash. My sight was getting blurry and I started to feel the gentle arms of sleep surrounding me. I didn't want to fall asleep in fear that the flames would kill me in my sleep. I felt my arms and legs collapse under me, I fell to the ground. Everything was growing darker and darker by the minute in my eyes. I heard shouting, something was calling me. Yet I was too weak to respond and my eyes started shutting all light fading as I saw a shadow of a person coming near me. Then everything went black.
I felt consciousness fill me again and I grunted in pain. I heard people gasp and then felt a hand grasp my own. "Your awake!" The voice said that I soon recognized as my older brother's. My body felt burned to death. I felt pain everywhere. Bandages were wrapped around my whole body, including my face. "I must ask everyone to leave the room now but family so we can remove the bandages." A unknown voice said. I heard foot steps as everyone left but my brother, for I could still feel his hand. I heard the door close and the unknown voice spoke again. "We are going to take the bandages off now." He said. I felt cold scissors on my head as the bandages were cut and then unwrapped. Once they were off they told me to open my eyes. I opened my eyes expecting light but only met the same cruel darkness. "Why are the lights off in here?" I asked confused. "They aren't off." My brother replied to me and then looked at the Doctor. "Why can't my sister see?!" He asked in panic. "It could have been from all the smoke and ash that got into her eyes. From being in such a disaster as that she was lucky to escape with even her life. The blindness could be temporary or perminate."
In about three weeks I was sent home after they checked my eyes to have eye surgery. Nope can't have it sadly. Made sure my burns healed properly and tried their best to make sure no scars were left by them. My brother was full of regret from how he sounded although I couldn't understand why. I just hoped things would get better and one day I would be able to see again.
