Stan was cooking breakfast, bacon and eggs, while Ford had a cup of coffee, reading a book that he'd borrowed from the Gravity Falls library.
Dipper and Mabel walked downstairs, still disturbed from their dream. Ford put the book down to greet them. That is, until he noticed their baggy eyes, tires eyes. "What happened to you two? Looked like you were up all night."
"We were." Dipper yawned. Mabel groaned, before flopping face first on the ground. Stan picked her up. "Hey I told you two to go to bed early. Don't want you tired on your first-second-no first- dammit what would you call it?"
"Second." Ford corrected.
"Right, second day of your summer break." Stan concluded, as he placed a sleeping Mabel on the couch. Mabel snored quietly in response. Dipper sighed. "It wasn't really intensional." Ford gave Dipper a questioning look.

Dipper once more let out a sigh. "Great uncle Ford, is it possible...that Bill could've survived?"
Both Grunkles stopped what they were doing. Grunkle Ford started to sweat, while Grunkle Stan started to fiddle with what he was holding, which happened to be the stove. "Guys? What did you do?" Dipper asked suspiciously. Stan stood straight up. "What!? What are you talking about! We didn't create anything! Bill isn't haunting me in my dreams! Who said that?" Ford face-palmed. Before Dipper could say anything though, the stove Stan was messing with suddenly caught alight. Stan screamed as he uselessly whacked at the flames with a mitten. "Ford! A little help!" Stan yelped as the mitten caught alight. Ford, by now, was holding the bridge of his nose in annoyance. But he still reached under the table. Dipper looked under to see him pressing a button. In an instant, a water sprinkler started going off, putting out the flames.
Dipper looked at both of his Grunkles in confusion.
Ford sighed. "You have no idea how many times he's nearly burned the house down."

(time skip)

Dipper and Mabel were walking through the town, Dipper carrying his own journal while Mabel led Waddles along with a leash. He'd gotten a little too big for her to carry, so she had to resort to using a leash, one of the things both she and Waddles hated.
Dipper was muttering under her breath. "I don't get it. How did Bill survive? And why would Grunkle Ford build a device to get him out of Grunkle Stan's mind without a plan? I just don't get it..."
He didn't notice Soos walking beside them. "Didn't Mr. Pines say something about nightmares?"
Dipper let out a yelp. "Soos! How long have you been there!?" Soos shrugged. "I think about 10 minutes now. Or maybe 5?" He started counting on his fingers. "Yeah I think about 10 minutes." Mabel climbed onto Soos' shoulder. "It doesn't matter! What does matter is that you're here! And we can go do something silly together!" Soos and Mabel high-fived each other.
Dipper didn't seem to hear them. He was looking past them, to where he noticed a specific 10 year old was walking toward the arcade. Dipper noticed he wasn't alone.
He decided to follow the white-haired child.
Leaving Mabel and Soos to their thing, he walked over to the arcade.
Upon entering, he saw Gideon playing an arcade game like a normal child. He seemed to be enjoying himself as he talked to the person he was with. Dipper was glad he was at least acting like a normal kid.
Now he was much closer, he could see that the person he was with was a girl, around 16, with bright red hair, wearing a white coat much like Ford's over a green t-shirt and blue jeans.
Something about her was...strange.
Dipper inhaled. He wasn't gonna stalk them all day. He was gonna greet Gideon and his new friend.

Dipper tried to walk as casually as he could up to Gideon.
"H-hey Gideon."
Gideon turned around, a look of surprise on his face. Dipper was waving at him. Gideon let out a big smile. "Dipper Pines! How are you? How's the family?" He greeted, walking up to Dipper and hugging him before he could refuse. Dipper, unused to this behaviour from the child, awkwardly stood there. "Um, good, and how've you been?" He replied. Gideon laughed. "Oh, just getti over bein' evil and all." He turned back towards the game. "And no body ever told me games were this fun!" The girl next to him gave a light cough. Gideon gasped. "Oh, where are my manners? Dipper, this is my new friend, Pristella. Pristy, this is the one and only Dipper Pines that helped me see past my evil being! I'm sure you two will get along!" He giggled. Dipper held out his hand. "Hi, Pristella." Pristella looked at his hand for a minute, as if trying to recall something. A look of realisation flashed over her face, before it was replaced by a bored expression. She took his hand and shook it. "Greetings."
There was a bit of silence, as Gideon had continued playing his game. Dipper laughed nervously. "Heheh...um...sorry Gideon, I gotta go. Need to make sure my...Grunkles haven't burned the house down!" Gideon laughed. "Of course. We can catch up over the summer. Bye friend!" Dipper waved one last time, before turning around and running out the door. Once outside, he looked around, searching for his sister and Soos.
