Chapter 10

"So Luz, what are you doing today?" Amity asked walking with Luz to the entrance of Tate manor. "Today I'm going to Eda's I haven't stayed there in awhile and I thought it'd be nice" Luz said walking with her hands behind her head gazing at the sky.

"Mind if we tag along?" The sets of twins came asking behind them. "Our parents left on a trip this morning" Edric said walking behind them.

"Sure, let's go check the market first" Luz said with a hop in her step. "Luz, can you tell us what mom was like?" Vanessa said walking on Luz's left.

Luz's eyes widened at Vanessas question. Luz was at a loss of words staring at Vanessa. "W-what do you want to know?" Luz said shakily. Luis quickly took notice and went beside her sister and placed his hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to if you don't want to it's clear that she's a touchy subject. He said with sincerity.

Luz looked up to her brother smiling. "No it's only fair, where do I start?" Luz said rubbing her chin. "How about what she acted like?" Vanessa said. Luz thought for a moment and remembered a spell grandad taught her. Luz stopped and looked between her siblings and quickly beamy their heads together. "With the mind ensnared let the memory be shared!"  (Give me a break coming up with a spell was hard... geez) Luz said a bright light shined between the three leaving the blights in utter shock.

"Uh... mind telling us what that was?" Emira asked holding her hand up. "Oh I shared all my memories with the-" Luz said before getting brought in by her siblings. "Uh guys are you alright?" Luz asked as her siblings hugged her tight. "We're so... sorry" Vanessa said with a tears draining from her eyes.

"Damn the earth realm!" Luis said holding onto Luz's head, gritting his teeth. Luis got onto one knee and held Luz by the shoulders. "We will never let you go through anything like that ever again baby sister" Luis said trying to fight back the tears. Vanessa kneeled down hugging Luz from the back.

"Guys, it's fine I'm over it" Luz said brushing them off. Luis and Vanessa looked at their sister in shock. The memories they'd seen were things a girl her age should never have to go through. "How? The things they did were so unforgivable!" Luis said with anger in his voice.

"Why would they beat you just for you skin color?" Vanessa said sobbing to her sister. Luz thought about it, it's not like they were wrong, what she went through would push any ordinary person over the edge, but somehow Luz was still here and was happy.

"A-and mom... she was never like that when we were little" Luis said. "Don't blame mamá, she's just a very prideful woman, and besides I've forgiven her" Luz said. This only angered Luis more, how could Luz defend her actions?

(Don't worry you'll get flashbacks in future chapters, why do I write my fanfics like shonen anime's 😂 and yes the Blights are witnessing all this just staying quiet out of respect)

"Don't do that Luz! Don't undermine how you were treated! You don't need ru defend her! And you definitely don't need to forgive her! Your feelings matter!" Luis said trying to get through to Luz. Luz stood there quiet looking in her brothers eyes seeing his fury.

"It's because of my feelings that I forgive her, if I lose my ability to forgive then I will cease to be myself" Luz said smiling. "It's because of how I was treated that I can stand here strong." Luz brought her brother out of the hug "now let's forget all this mushy stuff and go see Eda" Luz said her smile bright as ever as she started walking again leaving everyone behind her.

"Luis... s-she's bottling it all up isn't she?" Vanessa said as her hand shook. Seeing all those memories in span of 10 seconds traumatized them they felt every memory, every emotion in extreme detail, it was as if they lived it themselves.

"Uh, do you mind telling us what just happened?" Edric asked still not having caught on. "Luz shared her memories with them" Emira said rolling her eyes. Edric finally realized the situation and oohed in clarity.

Eda's stand - 9:00am - Luz

"Well look who it is?" Eda said leaning on her stand. When I walked up to them I noticed Lilith looking miserable in the corner. "What's up with sulky over there?" I asked eda pointing to Lilith.

Eda looked back and gestures to Lilith to get join us. Lilith rolled her eyes and joined us fixing her shirt that read "bad girls coven."

"Hi welcome to the owl shack where only the finest human artifacts and trinkets are sold" Lilith said miserably. "She's our sales associate!" Eda said laughing while elbowing her sister.

"Aw Lilith that's so sweet of you" I said grasping my fist together. Lilith was about to say something before Eda cut her off "why yes Lilith how sweet of you" she said... a little aggressively I might add.

"Uh, yes I thought it'd be a nice day for me and Edalyn to bond" Lilith said nervously I guess she was just a little worried it wouldn't go well. "So when are you two gonna be finished up here so we can head home?" I asked anxiously wanting to go to the owl house.

"We should be finished around 12:00 depending on how business looks today" Eda said waving her hands trying attract a customer.

"Alright, we'll meet you back here at 12:00 okay?" I told Eda. "Yeah sure kid go have fun with your friends" Eda said waving me off.

"Alright alright" I said walking off joining everyone else. "So what do y'all wanna do?" I asked as everybody turned to me.
