Eluding Time (Sesshomaru & Kagome)

CHAPTER 6

I found out that Shippo stayed behind on the village so I decided to take a visit before continuing the search for Naraku again. Sango lent Kirara to me, so I can regroup with them easily. They stopped by on a village to wait for me.

Kirara and I arrived at the Edo Village quickly. We spotted a few demons but I easily destroyed them using my sacred arrows.

"Kagome!"

I hopped off of Kirara and crouched on Shippo to pick him up. He wrapped his small arms around my neck. "I missed you!" I squeezed him once more before carrying him to Kaede's hut.

"I missed you, too, Kagome. I thought I wouldn't see you again," he teared up a bit.

I ruffled his hair and kissed the top of his head. "I won't be gone, Shippo. I'm always right here." I smiled.

He leaned on my shoulders, taking in the moment and keeping the silence. Kirara followed us until inside Kaede's hut. She's not inside but we settled down to wait for her.

A few minutes passed, she entered with a frown on her wrinkled face. "It's you, Kagome."

"Yes, Kaede. I regrouped with Sango a few days ago."

She remained still, staring at me intently. "Something's changed, kid," she murmured.

"What changed, Kaede?" I asked, laying down Shippo beside me. I placed a hand on his head, looking at his peaceful face. He's fallen asleep.

"I'm not sure, Kagome." Kaede sighed, shaking her head.

I thought about the sudden change of my eye color, maybe Kaede knows something. "Something happened recently."

She looked back at me. "What is it?"

I gulped before answering, "The color of my eyes changed just few weeks ago, it turned gold."

Her eyes narrowed, looking at me intensely. "Why is it not gold now?"

"I don't know why. Someone noticed that it changed back to brown."

"When was it? What did you before it was noticed?" Kaede asked.

"I think when I-"

We both immediately ran outside upon hearing a loud crash. Shippo woke up and ran outside, too. Kirara transformed, standing in a protective stance in front of us.

A large white dog demon appeared out of nowhere. Its bloodshot eyes looking everywhere, frantically. The demon spotted us and started lunging forward. I pushed Kaede and Shippo with me to dodge its attack. Kirara jumped out of the way, attacking one of its foot.

"Kirara, stop! Take Kaede and Shippo with you!"

Kirara sprinted on the air, scooping Shippo and Kaede to her back. She looked at me once more, I nodded at her to let her escape. I reached for my bow and arrow, aiming at the demon.

I doubt that it's Sesshomaru, he lost an arm during a fight with Inuyasha. I don't think it will grow back if he turned into his full form.

My head throbbed suddenly, making my knees fall weak. I fell to the ground clutching my head. The demon noticed and took advantage of it. I stared in horror as it opens its large mouth. The last thing I saw is the darkness, swallowing me whole.
