Haymitch was reading the letter as rose puts the necklace on. "What time is Effie supposed to be here?" Rose asks and Haymitch says "in about two hours!" He smiles brightly as he says this. Rose smiles brightly as well and the two hug.
Rose's POV
I hear a knock at the door and I look at dad and I run down stairs I slowly open the door to see the boy from the Hob. "How can I help you?" I ask calmly and he says "A-Are y-you Rosemary Abernathy?" He asks and I nod slowly a bit confused. "I-it's me... Addison, e-erm Addie!" He says smiling softly and the realization comes over me as I see his necklace. Dad comes downstairs holding the letter in his hand.
Tears overcome me and I say "A-Addie?!". He nods and I walk down the front steps and tackle him into a hug "I've missed you!" We both say at the same time.
Dad laughs softly as Effie walks up to us seeing that we're hugging and obviously not letting go. "Addison? You know her?!" Effie says and we both nod and look at each other "my gosh you're tall!!!!" I say looking up at Addison. He nods softly "yes, yes I am little Bean!". "H-hey! I'm not a little bean." I say stuttering and blushing a bit and Addison does as well.
*An hour or so later*
Dad and Effie are talking about stuff just catching up. While Addison and I are on the front steps of the house.
"Hey, do you remember Cinna? And how he would let us come with him to his shop and help him?" Addison asks and I shrug.
'Where have I heard that name before? Wait.. my dream...' I think to myself.
*later that night*
"Daddy!!" I hear a little girl say as she runs to her father, he was kinda tall and he had brown skin and chocolate brown eyes. The little girl has brown hair like her father but she has a kinda big stripe of pink with her bangs, blue eyes like Effie's, and Effie's skin tone as well.
"Sea Star!" The little girl's father says as, Effie? Walks up to the two. As the father picks up the little girl. I recognize this shop... but why? and how?. the little girl looks to be about five or four, "Rose be good for your father, okay?" Effie says as the little girl giggles and says "okay momma".
Effie kisses the girl's father and the little girl hugs Effie. Effie leaves the two and they go into the shop
I shoot awake and I see, dad with a gun in his hand; I start to shake uncontrollably and he puts his handgun on my desk.
He hugs me as I bury my face into his soft cotton shirt. He rubs my back as he holds me close to him. "Want to talk about the dream?" He asks and I nod softly.
After I finish explaining the dream. he keeps me close as Effie and Addison come in and join the hug as I break down crying and Addison looks at dad worried; right I completely forgot!! the day after tomorrow is the friggin reaping! urrrggg. meaning I'll be wearing the dress I'm wearing now. yessss!!!
Addison's POV
oh boy. the reaping, I completely forgot about that! Effie says that she has her gift for Rose. but its on the train. Rose ends up falling asleep in Mr. Abernathy's arms and Effie looks at him with a worried look in her eyes. Mr. Abernathy nods letting us know that she'll be alright and that we needed to go and get rest for Rose's birthday and the Reaping.
Rose's POV

I wake up in a cold sweat and sit there hugging my stuffed lion I had named Aslan from my favorite book series. I get up and walk out of my room as I notice I'm now in my Pjs I sigh and shake my head as I walk down stairs and get my water bottle from the fridge and I see dad asleep with an envelope and a wrapped box. I don't touch the the envelope and box but i look at dad as I hear a soft knock on the door i run to open it before dad could wake up. it was Katniss and Peeta. I walk outside and close the door behind me.
We walk over to Katniss and Peeta's house next door and I hug them as I breakdown sobbing. Katniss goes to get something from her and peeta's room, Peeta pulls me into a brotherly embrace. then we hear a very VERY loud scream "ROSEBUD!! NOO!!!!" There's not doubt it was dad so I instantly get out of Peeta's embrace and run next door to my house. "DADDY?!?!?!?!?!" I scream as he runs to me and i jump into his arms. we both fall to the floor and sit there as we both sob.
"D-daddy.." I say laying my head on his shoulder and wipe his tears as he sniffles and says softly "y-yeah Rosebud?". "I'm scared..." I say throughout my tears. "I'm being honest with you... so am I... Rosebud.. so am I" Dad says softly as I fall asleep.
