Your past is just a story,
And once you realize this,
It has no power over you.

Alexa's senses were exploding. She was stuck in an overcrowded muggle train station with her brother holding her hand, and Olivia keeping a tight grasp on her arm. It had been about three weeks since Alexa got her Hogwarts letter, and the beatings had gotten considerably worse. Olivia was unrelenting with her threats, and even here she was whispering sharp threats into Alexa's ear. The worst part was that Alexa was fairly sure Olivia wouldn't have any trouble going through with the threats.

Luke was pushing through the muggles, and leading them towards platforms nine and ten. He stopped them right in front of a red brick wall, and Alexa felt a shiver of excitement come over her. She felt like a caged bird breaking out of its cage and seeing the world for the first time. With a start, she followed Luke through the brick wall, walking through with her back straight and her trolley pushed in front of her.

In the wizarding world, everybody would know them, so Alexa had to act like a pureblood. She knew exactly how to act like one. She had more grace than most purebloods could hope for, but Olivia always told her she looked like a duck with feet too big for her when she walked. With Alexa's mask fully on her face, most wizards stopped to stare at her. Here in front of their eyes was a beautiful eleven year old with more elegance, and maturity than most adults.

Olivia emerged out of the wall after them, and fussed over Luke, before saying "Luke why don't you get onto the train, I want to have a word with Alexa here."

Olivia drags Alexa to a corner of the station, holding on tight enough to cut off circulation to Alexa's arm. "Now listen here, freak. If I even hear one word of you doing something you're not supposed to at Hogwarts, you'll wish you were never born."

Olivia harshly let go off Alexa's wrist and shoved her back towards the train, before apparating out of the platform.

Alexa looked around, before entering the train with her suitcase in her hand. She looked for an empty compartment, and luckily she found one nearing the end of the train. She closed the compartment door, and concentrated on her wrist, the newly formed bruise slowly disappearing. She reached up and shoved her trunk up, stowing it away for the moment. Then, she took Hades out of her pocket - she was already wearing her robes - and placed him on her lap.

Alexa took out a book disguised as a first year transfiguration book (it was actually one of the books from Flourish and Blotts, about spell creating) and started reading. She barley noticed when the train started moving, and only glanced out the window on occasion to see the scenery.

After about 10 minutes after the train started moving, a knock came on her compartment door.

"Come in." Alexa answered.

The compartment door slid open halfway, and a tiny head peeked into the compartment. The girl had dark brown hair slightly longer than her shoulders, and a nervous look on her face.

"Can I sit here? All the other compartments are full." The girl asked nervously.

"Sure." Alexa answered, and the brunette stepped in fully, before closing the door.

Up close, Alexa noticed a couple long claw marks running down the girls arms, and wondered where she had gotten them from.

"What's your name?" The girl asked while stowing away her trunk and sitting down across from Alexa.

"Alexandra Merlin, but you can call me Alexa. You?"

"Eloise Lupin." The girl; Eloise, answered.
