After he left the Black Bull captain in front of their captain's quarters, the Blue Rose errand boy Siegfred reported back to the other squad members.
"Good work, boy," Puli told him. "You can leave now."
Siegfred hesitated but he knew better than to stand up against the girls in this squad.
The girls then began squealing. "They're inside the room!"
Puli turned back to the other girls that surrounded a rectangular magic item - a screen of some sort - with the size of a plate. It was connected to another magic item in a shape of a rabbit that they placed on Charlotte's bedside table, allowing them to see what was happening inside her room.
Even if Captain Charlotte loved Yami for a long time, as much as they wanted them to end up together, they wouldn't just leave them alone in her room drunk and without any assurance that she would be "safe". If Yami would start acting... inappropriately, they'd make sure to save their captain. And honestly, they just wanted to test if the Black Bulls' captain was worthy of Charlotte Roselei. And hopefully, they would get a glimpse of what the Black Bull captain actually thought of her. At least, that's their intention.
"He doesn't seem to be interested whatsoever. If anything, he looks bored," Risacca commented.
"That's nonsense, this is captain we are talking about," Lynn protested.
"I'm pretty sure that's just his natural face," Borja interjected.
"In any case, it's a good thing Sol went home for a vacation this time, huh?" Puli said, almost like an afterthought.
The others nodded in agreement. "She would definitely kick up a fuss."
They stopped talking when they saw Yami put Charlotte down on top of the bed. But instead of moving away, he paused and gazed down on their captain. His face was unreadable.
They held their breaths as they waited for his next move. The anticipation was too much.
"Lynn," Puli nodded at their co-member to standby.
"Yeah." Lynn could materialize any object she could imagine anywhere within a twenty-meter radius that she could see - in this situation, through a screen. They couldn't dream of attacking a captain - especially the man called "the god of destruction" - but they could surely interrupt any ill intentions he might have.
Contrary to their expectations, it was Charlotte who moved first. Her eyelashes fluttered and Yami panicked. He stepped back and hit the bedside table where the stuffed rabbit was. At that instant, the image of the room whirled around and then when it stopped, it gave them a perfect view of the ceiling.
They all shouted in frustration at the same time. "Oh, c'mon!" Borja almost threw the screen against wall.
"Oh no, what happened with the captain?"
"We can't just stay here, let's go!" Puli urged her friends to see what's happening for themselves.
They ran towards the captain's room and just when they were about to knock, the door opened and revealed a spooked Yami Sukehiro. He looked so out of it as he stepped out of the room and walked passed them without even looking at any of them. He didn't even seem to realize they were there.
"Uh.. C-Captain Yami?" Wainsley dared to call out.
But Yami couldn't hear anything either.
What the hell happened?
