George walked into Potions class hurriedly, slamming the door open and causing the quiet class to look at him. His eyes fell on his Professor, and he could tell the words which were about to leave his mouth before he even said them.
"Detention."

George sulked around, making his way back to the Potions classroom for his 1 hour long detention. It was now 4pm which meant he would be back at his common room around 5:30pm, which meant he had no time to finish the last few pages of his notebook. He huffed as he opened the door, being met to the sight of Professor Snape sitting at his desk; next to him was a cauldron will remains of a slimy green substance. A shiver tiptoeing down his spine, his glance fell in the corner of a room, meeting his eyes with a particular Slytherin that he didn't want to see. He rolled his eyes as Clay stood up, giving him a small smile and looked at the floor as he did.
"You two have one hour to clean this cauldron. Manually. Do not disappoint me," Snape sneered while standing up and leaving the room, slamming the door loudly. George lifted his eyes up and met Clay's once again, pulling a stone cold expression on his face. He got a sponge and some water and began scrubbing away at the grubby pot, not wanting to make eye contact with Clay. Clay shuffled his feet and moved closer to George.
"You know, I really don't get why you're being so cold to me," Clay muttered while scrubbing the cauldron violently.
"I said before, you're nothing but a bully!" George practically screamed this at Clay, causing him to wince. George briefly remembered the times he saw Clay torment the other students regularly. There was this one boy, who had pastel pink hair and was famous upon Gryffindor's, being one himself. He would often see Clay and the boy have small feuds, always ending with the pink haired boy walking off in a huff, and Clay with a strange expression in his eyes. The pink haired boy had moved schools to another school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, to which Clay responded by not leaving his common room for a week straight. George never understood why Clay did the things he did, or what exactly happened between the two, but he did understand that Clay's unpleasant behaviour only worsened from then. But that was last year.
"If that's how you see me, then fine! You're nothing but a judgemental, overcritical coward who won't step out of his shell to make friends!" Clay shouted before dropping his sponge on the floor and walking out of the room, leaving the door ajar. George pulled an irritated expression, realising he'd have to clean the cauldron by himself.
*** Timeskip to Breakfast the next day ***
George sat down on the Ravenclaw next to his friend, Erin. She was going on about something from her Herbology class, gushing about Luna Lovegood as she did on the daily. George laughed whenever she mentioned that she was excited for her next class with Luna - which was about every 2 minutes. He opened his brown leather notepad and took out his pencil, focusing completely on the intent of his book. He furrowed his eyebrows in concentration. Out of nowhere, he heard a clatter and the sound of a plate shattering on the floor. He whipped his heads upwards and his eyes widened to the sight. Clay was standing over a Hufflepuff, which was grabbing his arm in pain. Clay had a bruise forming on his cheek and a cut was on his lip. Everyone was whispering to each other, and he caught a few words: called him cocky- ... - threw a fork at him! the absolute cheek- ... -clay punched hi- ... -mcgonagall-.
Professor McGonagall walked through the great hall, a sour expression on her face.
"My office, NOW."
