A/N: Just wanted to say a small thank you to people who read my author's notes :) It means a lot more than you think! This chapter is short because again, it's partially a filler.
!!!! (This chapter takes place on January 3rd, when Hogwarts opens again after the Christmas Holiday) !!!!
George walked into his potions class, ready for a whole other term of mean remarks made towards him by Snape and teasing from the Slytherins in his class. His leather bag was slung over his shoulder, filled with books and small cartons of ink. Much to his surprise, when he opened the towering door to the classroom, Clay was already sat in the seat next to him, fiddling with his quill.
"Clay." George bit his lip nervously as he walked towards the older. Despite the way they ended off last time George saw the blond, he couldn't help but discover a little spark of excitement in him after a few weeks of not communicating. Clay lifted his head up, and George almost paused at the sight. His once olive-green eyes, which held sparks of every sensation in them, had dulled down to a murky sea full of one emotion. Regret. Overall, he looked exhausted. His other arm that wasn't fiddling with his dark grey quill was held in a fist, his veins becoming apparent."Forgive me for how this is going to sound, but, are you- okay?" George sat down on the stool behind the desk, resting his head on his hands and watching Clay.
"I'm fine, George." Clay opened the large potions manual, a few dust particles glimmering in the sun's rays.
"Well- I'd just like to say I'm sorry that I pushed you to talk. I shouldn't have overstepped those boundaries, even if I desperately wanted answers" George's head hung low, his eyes staring into the palms of his hand.
"Don't worry about it, George." Clay's voice turned softer when he said George's name, "I suppose one day I'll tell you more about it."
"Well, I was wondering" George paused and lifted his head up, surprised to be met with Clay's sunken eyes once again, "if we could maybe hang out today? Blade and I found a nice area in the Greenhouse we can visit during lunch,"
Clay shook his head.
"Sorry, George. I'm eating lunch with Vanora this week." Clay murmured, a sorry expression on his face.
"Vanora?"
"Slytherin girl, dark brown hair almost black. Grey eyes and freckles? Surely you've seen her around before," A smile grew on Clay's face as he talked about this girl who was unknown to George.
"Oh, right." George took out his quill and began to write.
