Law of Attraction

I wanted to write something talking about my experience with the Law of Attraction.

Incase you don't know, it is basically the belief that you can manifest anything that you want into your life. For a more in-depth explanation, there is a documentary on Netflix called 'The Secret' as well as many YouTube videos.

Anyway, I had been trying to manifest me getting the role of head girl. I applied and got an interview and I was fairly confident that I would either get head or deputy. It turns out that there was a really great girl who ended up getting head, and my school couldn't decide on a deputy, so they didn't assign one.

At first, I was quite disappointed but then I got a phone call from a teacher at school. He told me that I had been shortlisted in the top ten for a writing competition that I had entered a few months ago. The competition was between 14-19 year olds (I am 15 now, was 14 when I wrote the piece) and across all schools in my county. A few hundred people entered and I was in the top ten. Because of this, my work is being published into an actual book.

Not only that, but because I didn't get head girl, I got assigned senior prefect at my school and was put in charge of the school newspaper because of my writing abilities.

I believe that a lot of this was down to the Law of Attraction. I wanted one thing but, for whatever reason, the universe saw that there were better, more beneficial opportunities out there and made those happen for me.

I am by no means saying that if you follow the Law of Attraction you never have to do anything and it will all be handed to you, because I put a lot of work into the piece that I wrote for the competition and the application for head girl. I do believe that everything happens for a reason, if one thing doesn't work out for you, it is because the universe has something else in store.
