We stayed up till 3am, talking and catching up. It was one of those days were cuddling felt better than sex. I definitely missed the feeling of his dick inside me, but this was a whole new type of pleasure.

After a while, We fell asleep on our bed. For the first time in months, we fell asleep at the same time, with each other in our arms.

It felt like heaven.

I woke up the next day to an empty bed. And my brain immediately started thinking the worst. I wasn't angry, I was disappointed but not surprised.

I can't believe I thought we would go back to being a cute couple just because of one night. I felt so foolish.

Getting out of bed, I entered the bathroom and freshened up. I didn't want to go to work today, so I wore a grey bodysuit, with white sneakers, pairing it with white socks, and the gold necklace that Xander got me for our second 'anniversary'. I wore my wedding ring, did some light makeup and packed my hair in a high ponytail. I was a little sad, but I wasn't going to let anyone know that.

I was about to enter my car when I was stopped by Jamal, Xander's driver. Jamal is a 19 year old boy. He has been working for Xee's family since he was a little boy, with his mum Maria.

"Miss T!" He shouted while waving his hand in the air.

Chuckling at his nickname, I turned. "Hi J!" I replied, using my nickname for him too.

"What did I say about calling me miss? It's just T or Mara okay?"

"Sorry, my bad Mi-I mean Mara"

"Master Xander said I should drive you today." he said.

"Did he now?" I inquired.

"Yes ma'am. He said I should be at your service until he gets back."

"Did he say you should drive me, or did he say you should spy on me?" I joked.

Xander used to do this so much until I told him to knock it off. He would put three bodyguards on me, just to make sure I was safe and he knew where I was. We fought about it for a week before he decided to give me only 1. But I know he probably had the other two lurking around.

"Uh-he said I should just drive you" he replied, scratching his neck.

"Okay J, whatever you say" I replied, laughing. "Well let's be on our way, don't want to be late".

"Your office?"

"No thank you. Can you take me to Zoe's cupcake's first?" I asked.

"Sure thing Miss T." He answered, opening my car door for me. "Thank you my good sir" I joked.

Smiling, he closed my door, opened his and drove off.

••••••••

I ended up spending my whole day at the cafe. I wrote some poems, took some pictures and watched a lot of movies.

To be honest, I just wasn't ready to go home. I know Xander had a logical reason for leaving but it still kinda hurt. And my thoughts weren't making it any better.

At some point, Xander texted me just to check up on me, asking me where I was and when I'd be home. But I didn't answer him properly, just one word replies, Mostly because I was still salty.

Resting my head on my table, with my arms folded as a pillow. I started thinking about me and Xander's little family.

'Maybe a kid would help us' I suggested to myself.

"No that's stupid" I said out loud.

"What is stupid?" A voice boomed from above me. Frightened, I jumped up immediately looking up to see my one and only husband.

"Is this seat free?" He asked with a bright smile. "No" I replied. "It is not free."

He definitely wasn't expecting that answer but he removed the look he had on his face as quickly as it came and put on another eye blinding smile.

"Oh, are you expecting company?" He inquired.

"No".

"So that means this seat isn't taken then!" He replied a little too excited.

"No. It is taken, by my foot." I replied. Being petty and childish, I put my foot up on the other side of the booth.

"Mia Kara, can I please sit down?"

I didn't answer him. I just brought my phone out and started texting Liam. He had asked me for advice on some new girl he's talking to.

I didn't get to text him for too long because my phone was snatched out of my hand.

"Who are you talking to? You keep laughing and smiling." He questioned.

"Nobody important. Give me my phone back."

I know we could have just solved whatever is happening through proper communication but I was letting my emotions get to me.

Ignoring me, he checked who I was talking to. It took him a while to notice but when he did, his face turned from happiness to.....sadness?

Why is he sad? What the fuck? He put my phone back on the table and straightened his suit.

"Sorry for disturbing you. I'll be at home if you need me." He uttered lowly.

With that, he turned and started heading for the door.

"Wait!" I called out to him. He turned back and stared at me. Waiting for whatever I had to say.

"Um my leg isn't sitting there anymore so uh—the seat is free." I replied feeling a little self conscious.

His feigned sadness was gone as fast as it came and he broke into a big smile.

"Sure!" He replied quite enthusiastically.

He looked like a big baby right now and I just wanted to hug him. And my mood swings/thoughts finally calmed down.

We both sat down, and an uncomfortable silence enveloped us.

We did not look like a couple that knew each other. We probably looked like we were on our first blind date.

Finally deciding to break the silence. I started "Why did you leave me alone?" I whispered.

He sighed before looking into my eyes . "I'm sorry neoñata. Vanessa, my assistant called and said that there was an emergency. She said that some of our goods were stolen. It took me the whole day to find out who stole it, and eventually we found out that it wasn't stolen. She just hid some files." He explained. "I don't know why she would do that." He added.

The other obstacle besides my lack of communication skills: Vanessa.

Vanessa has been his assistant for 2 years now. She's a beautiful girl, I'll admit that. But her attitude towards my husband is not.

She knows Xander is married. In fact she was invited to one of our anniversary dinner's. But she still hits on him every chance she gets.

I honestly won't be surprised if she lied just so she could see him on his day off. It's even worse because Xander is so naive when it comes to women hitting on him. He never thinks she is, even when it's as bright as day.

To sum it all up; I really dislike her.

But it was about time I acted mature and let it all go. Because none of this was Xander's fault.  "It's okay bubba, you couldn't control an emergency" I said. "I just wish you would've at least told me."

"I know bambina, and I'm sorry" he said.

Leaning over the table, I pecked him on his lips and whispered "Let's get out of here". I was tired of sitting in that cafe all day.
