Pam's POV
"I...I don't like it here...I want to go home!" I whimper trying to open the car door but no matter how much I tried they wouldn't budge.
Maxwell frowns and softly takes my hands into his warm ones, "Hey, it's going to be okay. Remember what I promised?" He asks tenderly.
I shift a bit and nervously nod in response, "Y-you promised me that I'll be happy and safe forever and ever."
He smiles and nods before wiping some stray tears from my eyes, "Yep, and I wouldn't let you go anywhere if I knew you were going to be hurt. I know it's scary to be in a new school all on your own but I know you can do it and I know you'll be amazing." He says.
"H-how do you know that?" I sniffle looking up at him. What if I fail? What if everyone ends up just hating me again!? I don't want to be hurt again!
"Because I'm your big brother! I have magic powers to know that you're going to be fine," he insists before brushing my messy hair back to plant a magic kiss my forehead which made all my worries go away.
I let out a shaky breath and nod, "O-okay...I believe you." I smile just as the cab stops in front of the school.
"Max look! It's like Hogwarts or something! Do you think there may be ghosts!? What if there are hidden doors!?" I exclaim as I jump out of the cab and point towards the building.
Maxwell chuckles, "Yeah, maybe they have a dragon inside too. Let's go try and find him," he says as he starts to carry my bags inside like it was nothing.
"Do you think he'll be friendly?" I ask walking by his side. He turns to think for a minute, "Well most dragons tend to be grumpy but I hear that if you give a dragon a huge cake they'll be your friend for life." He suggests.
I giggle, "That's a lie! How would we even make a cake that big!?"
He chuckles and ruffles my hair, "I'm sure you can figure it out," he says before leading me to my dorm room which was a small house in the middle of a beautiful garden.
It was my dream to come true! I couldn't help but roll around the pretty flowers they are just so soft.
"Pam...your dress, " Maxwell sighs noticing the dirt and grass stains on my white dress. He got it for me for my first day of school and now it was ruined.
"Oh...I'm sorry..." I frown getting up. He shakes his head and sighs, "It's okay, come on, if we wash it right away it'll be okay."
I nod and quickly rush inside. It was so warm and cozy! My favorite part though was the rug! It was so soft and was my favorite color, yellow! I would roll around on it but my brother made me take a shower and change into another set of clothes to help him with unpacking.
It took a few hours but we managed to unpack everything by nightfall. Everything looked great but...being done meant that Max had to leave.
"Remember your schedule?" He asks as he dusts off his pants.
I look down and nod not wanting him to go. He gently smiles and walks up to me," Pam look at me, please." He requests.
I cover my face with my hands and shake my head. He lets out another sigh and cups my cheeks and makes me look up at him again,
"Pam I'm not going to be gone forever. I'll come to visit any chance I get. I promise! And you can call me at any time!""But that isn't enough! Why can't you stay!? I need you!" I cry out hugging him tightly. I won't let him go! I'll never let him go!
He gently pets my head and hugs me back, "Pam...I know it's hard but you know why I can't...I have to work and take care of dad. You know that."
