Eddies eyes slowly fluttered open as his eye focused in on the unknown room...'Where the fuck am I?..' He thought to himself as he was greeted with a bunch of posters of old horror movies on the obvious attic roof.

He slowly sat up, only just noticing he was in complete strangers clothes as well, he was too confused and tired to even be scared, so he just slumped himself out of bed, his legs felt weak and like they were about to give out from under him, but he shakily walked down the stairs, his small and skinny hands grasping the banister for support. "H-hello?" He practically whispered, his voice shaky and strained.

"Eds! Hey!" Richie grinned sprinting up the steps, grabbing him quickly and bringing him into a way too tight hug, if he was honest he was practically shitting himself the entire time, he was worried.

Eddie groaned, wrapping his arms around the boys back with his hands clinging onto him for dear life. "Put me down! Holy shit," Eddie grinned a small bit, hiding his face into the boy's warm neck.

"Nope! Can't do that!" Richie hummed, walking down the steps with the boy in his arms. "You ok though?..why'd you faint?"

"Uh, just...my mum, got a bit upset and forgot I had asthma." Eddie groaned, looking around the room to see an older woman sitting there at the table eating something that looked absolutely delicious.

"What happened?" Richie questioned, not even really thinking about the odd position they were in.

"Not really important," Eddie mumbled, trying to escape Richie's arms. Yes, they were comfortable, and yes they felt amazing to be held in...but who the fuck was this lady watching them.

"Ma! Eddie's not accepting my hugs!" Richie groaned, finally putting the shorter boy down, a little bit annoyed that he lost the comfort of Eddie Kaspbrak.

"Pfft, Richie you need to learn that your friends aren't as affectionate as you, god Alex was right." Maggie laughed, patting the seat next to her.

"Who's Alex?" Eddie questioned, sitting down next to the lady as Richie sat beside the other.

"My oldest daughter, Richie's sister. She's off at college at the moment but she always talked about how overly affectionate Richie was and how hard it would be for him to get a girlfriend," Maggie hummed, laughing at the irony of "girlfriend".

"Jokes on her, girls have cooties." Richie hummed, taking a bite of his dinner.

"Yeah, they really do." Eddie joked, Richie didn't notice it but...Eddie was blushing, his face had heated up and flushed a red colour.

A month had gone by since that dinner, and Eddie was trying to avoid his mother as much as he could, whenever her boyfriend was over Eddie would leave and go to the house, sitting with Richie and just talking...talking like friends, or something a little bit closer...

Eddie was confused, really confused. He didn't know how he felt about Richie, it was obvious he felt a positive feeling towards him but...something just made him feel different. He had male friends before sure, even best friends but...no one made him feel this different.

Like the other day, he was going off about how there was a new horror movie coming out that was being filmed by his favourite director and all Eddie could think was 'Aw, that's cute...' and then went home and binged their movies.

It was...interesting, really interesting. He's only felt this once in his life and it was towards his second grade "girlfriend", but this time it was much more intense...much more. Like if he didn't see Richie at least once a day he felt like a complete ass and got a little bit cranky.

So he decided to write it out, what were the reasons he could be feeling so off around him?

"ʀᴇᴀꜱᴏɴꜱ ᴡʜʏ ɪ ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅ ꜰᴇᴇʟ ᴡᴇɪʀᴅ ᴀʀᴏᴜɴᴅ ʀɪᴄʜɪᴇ.

⁵. ...ᵍᵃʸ"

As Eddie bit the old pencil in between his perfectly white teeth he pondered to himself, thinking harder on all the reasons why that were written down in front of him.

"I must be getting a cold."
