❝His soft lips tasted like watermelon.
His hair smelt like the sweetest cinnamon.
His skin was electrifying each time he touched me.❞
❝It was as if he knew me, everything about me. Every little bit.
What could comfort me?
What could make me sad?
What would make me happy?
It was like he understood everything about me.Almost like he was meant for me.❞
❝But...if he was meant for me. That meant he was meant to protect me, why couldn't I protect him.❞
Why Richie.
Why couldn't you protect him.
Why.
Why.
Why.

Richie sat up, sweat dripping down his forehead as he looked around the darkroom, he was terrified. That dream was so vivid... scarily vivid, all he could remember was being yelled at by some...thing.
"...fuck," he exhaled, his hands shaking as he could practically taste his heartbeat. His eyes traced the dark room looking for anything to comfort him, tears were swelling which made it much harder to see.
His hands trembled as he cupped his own face, weeping into them for comfort, he had no idea why the dream had such an effect on him, absolutely zero...but something just made him tremble inside.
A slow creak ran through the attic as a soft boy hummed. "Rich? You ok?.." A soft voice hummed, one Richie only knew as a certain girl.
"Alex?! What are- Why are you here?!" He almost shat himself, his eyes widening as the girl with bouncy black hair entered the room.
"Can't I drop in to check on my favourite little brother randomly?" She joked, sitting next to her brother, he flinched very confused and very tired.
"Not in the middle of the night!" He groaned, his eyes barely staying open as he flopped back on his mattress.
Alex sighed, turning her body to the boy. "I was going to wait downstairs until morning...but, you started screaming? You screamed "why" over and over...what happened?" She hummed, playing with the boys' curls as the moonlight shined onto her face.
"Uh...just a weird dream...I don't really remember it," He answered honestly, his eyes slowly drifting shut but then rapidly blinking open, trying to fight going back to sleep.
She nodded, giving a slow hum of the song there father used to sing with Maggie to get them to sleep. She knew it really well, almost off the top of her heart, but Richie could only remember it as an earworm.
He knew it but not able to re-sing it. It was such a slow-paced song that it eventually trapped Richie back into the comfort of sleep.
Who knew what that dream could've been about.
