chapter 3: The Secretary

Nova Rey

I greeted Hayden the security guard for the building when we walked in. He's a little bit older than me. Probably 24. Really handsome too. He smiled, "Good afternoon Miss Rey, Mr. Jones."

Everyone was in business mode since Noah was here which was lame. They all new he meant business. No fooling around. I admit he runs this place really well.

We got into the elevator, I got to click the button, level 38. Top floor. Up there is Noah's office, a meeting room, and his secretary's office.

I hated his secretary. Hey name is Leah. She always tries to suduce him. Even though he has a girlfriend! I think she's had like 27 boyfriends in a span of 3 months.

What makes me laugh is when I stop by sometimes and she glares at me like I killed her family. Its safe to say, she hates me too. "Noah if Leah says something to me I swear I'll pop her boob implants." I said, seriously.

"I wouldn't worry about her. I fired her a few days ago." He grinned. "Finally!" I screamed while laughing. Exiting the elevator.

I honestly think it would be fun to be Noah's secretary. I already know the basics. This is what I'm going to college for. Plus everyone here already knows me.

"Noah what was Leah's responsibilities for being your secretary?" I asked.

"Basically attend meetings, take notes during meetings, send emails about whatever project we're working on at that moment, respond to emails, sending the important ones to me, go to any business trips with me, which were never fun 'cause she wanted to fuck me, set up my schedule, meetings, file papers, stay late when I needed her to and whatnot." He replied.

So basically I could do all of that. I grinned. "Hey Nooooaaah," "Yes Nooovva," he replied back. "You know I think you can use a new secretary since you don't have one," I tried to get him to realize who wanted the job.

"Yeah I know it's getting pretty chaotic." He Sighed. "I know someone who would love to work with you, as a secretary and fits all of those responsibilities you listed.. basically just finishing college" I hinted.

"Really? Who?" He asked excitedly. I rolled my eyes. I waited a minute to see if he'd finally catch on. With no such luck I said, "Me dumbass!"

"Really Nova! I thought you didn't want to work with me oh my god. Work will be so much fun now. Everyone is so scared to talk one bit when I'm around. You'll make the office better! Fuck yes! Woooooo!!" He ranted on and on. I laughed.

"Seeing it is Monday, I'll see you on Tuesday for the first day of work. I'm going to go get a bunch of supplies for my new job, and I'm going to go quit my old one." I yelled walking away.

I'm kinda glad I'll work with Noah instead of some sleeze who tries to rape their workers. I just don't want to go into the restaurant by myself.

I ended up taking Hayden's Zenvo ST1. It's a badass sportscar. I love it so much. Its all black. I'll probably be racing today. Sorry not sorry Hayden.

I dreaded driving to the diner. I wanted it to be as quick as possible. It only took 10 Minutes to get here from Jones Holdings Inc. I parked near the end of the parking lot so no one would park next to me and scratch the car. I walked in running into someone's back.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see you there I was looking at my pho-" I rambled, before realizing who I had just ran into. It was Hunter. "Why are you here right now?" I asked. "I came to see if you were going to come to work today," he replied.

"I came just to stop by. I'm quitting.. I don't want to work here anymore." I stated. Why does he even care if I came or not. Stalker. "Can I come with you? Just incase he tries something?" Hunter asked.

"Yeah that'd probably be smart.." I motioned him to follow. While walking he grabbed my hand. It felt nice. I felt safe. We got to Joshua's office, and I cringed.

Why did I ever work here?

I walked in, with Hunter close behind. Still holding my hand.

Joshua looked at me and glared. "You're late it's 2:40." He stated. I Shrugged. "Okay well that's not really my problem anymore seeing as I quit." I said. He looked shocked.

"I expect my last paycheck in the mail this week." I said walking away. "Nova! You can't quit!" He yelled. Hunter was quick to turn around. "What was that?" He growled in his face. I could physically see Joshua backing down.

"That's what I thought." He grabbed my hand and let go once we were outside. "Thanks for being there when it happened and being there today." I said.

We walked to my car / Hayden's. I auto started the car with the key and Hunter's expression was awesome. "Thats your car? Thats a Zenvo ST1! Holy shit!" He exclaimed. I chuckled, "It's my friend Hayden's car. He lent it to me cause I went to work with someone else."

"Its a nice car. I've always wanted one.. anyways see you around Nova, goodluck to the company you're at." He smiled. I nodded, "See you."

I got in and headed towards officemax.
