Agnes was at our house checking up on Hayley telling her she needs to see a doctor.

"I told you Agnes, I feel great!" Hayley tried to convince her. I don't like Agnes whatsoever.

"You are overdue for a checkup." I roll my eyes at Agnes for stating the obvious.

"What is she gonna do? Pop into the Quarter for a quick ultrasound? A pregnant werewolf escorted by a witch? Nothing to see there!" I snapped at Agnes.

Rebekah looked at Hayley jealous. "A lot of women would kill to have a child. It strikes me as odd that you're not taking better care of yours."

I look at my shoes because they become interesting after what Bex says.

"I know a doctor out in the Bayou, off the beaten path. Now, I took the liberty of making an appointment for you. Tonight, after-hours, just us. Vampires will never get word of it." I look up at Hayley skeptical.

Hayley looks at me and rolls her eyes. "Okay, fine. Bayou-baby-doctor it is." I nod at Hayley. I'm reluctant to let her leave with Agnes.

"Bex, I'll be close in the Bayou. I'll make sure she's okay, I'll text you if things go bad." She nods at me and I speed to the Bayou.

I was about 3 miles away from Hayley so I could get to her fast if I needed too.

I hear branches breaking and I freeze. "I'm not a threat, I came to walk around and listen for a friend."

I see someone walk out from behind a tree bruised and cut.

"What is an Original vampire doing out in the Bayou?" He asks me

"What is an Original vampire doing out in the Bayou?" He asks me.

I get this sense of security and think back to the wolf I saved the other night.

"I'm listening for my friend, Hayley. She was the girl I was with the other night. When I freed you from the trap." He nods but still seems hesitant.

"Look I know we're supposed to be sworn enemies but I helped you the other night. It also doesn't help that I'm sure you know I'm part witch too."

I ramble and he smiles. "Well it's not like your the witch who put the curse on my brother and the rest of our pack." He walks over to me.

"What curse?" He looks at me confused. "The Crescent Curse. A witch cursed my brothers pack to be a human the night of the full moon and wolves for the rest of the month."

I nod at his sentence. "So she reversed it?" He nods at me.

"Why aren't you one then? If you don't mind my asking." He sighs.
