7 NARRATIVE&FINSTA

CHAPTER 7
(continuation of 6)

I wake in a bed
and a bedroom I
don't recognize
as my own. I freak
out a little but see
my clothes are
still on.

Of course I have
a throbbing
headache and
feel like shit. I look
over at the bed
stand and see a
bottle of Advil and
a bottled water
sitting there.

I pop two Advil's
real quick and get
up to leave
because it's time to
get my ass beat by
my aunt.

I realize it's
Vinnie's room but I
could care less at
this point. I'm tired
of this shit.

I quietly leave the
room and try to
sneak out the
front door going
unnoticed. Was
not successful.

"What are you
doing here?" Amb
questions as she
approaches.

"Nothing, I'm
leaving. I don't
even remember
falling asleep." I
chuckle.

"You were sooo
drunk last night, I
was actually kind
of actually worried
about you."
Amber states.

"Haha sorry I
guess a lot was on
my mind last night."
I shrug before
continuing, "I
should go home
now though."

I wait outside
for my Uber,
Vinnie was nice
enough to charge
my phone last
night.

I quickly get into
the Uber after it
just pulled up.
Kind of
surprised some
of these people
do it so early.

The Uber ride
is pretty silent,
I usually get
uncomfortable
talking to the
drivers easily.

"Thank you." I
say politely as
we stop in front
of my aunts
house.

I unlock the front
door to the house
and see my aunt
sipping her coffee
in the kitchen.

"Where have you
been all night? I
know you're 18
but while you live
under my roof I
expect you home
before 2 am."
she explains.

"I'm sorry I ended
up falling asleep.
Amber was there
too though." I reply.

"But this isn't even
just all of it, I found
your Marijuana. I
thought you quit
and you're still
fucking underaged."

Not knowing how
to respond I just
stand there
awkwardly waiting
for her to continue
the lecture.

"And I saw that
you've been
skipping your
appointments. I
get it you think
you don't need it
but clearly you
do." Aunt Mae
continues.

I nod, I stopped
going because
they weren't
helping and a
waste of my time.

"I'm getting tired
of you doing this
stupid stuff and
I think it is best
if you move out."
She states
crossing her arms.

"But, I'm trying to
get better. Last
night I swear to
you I saw my
brother." I defend.

"No you didn't
see him last night,
just let him go."
Aunt Mae says
shaking her head.

"Let him go? I
literally lost my
parents and then
my brother
disappeared.
You're lucky I
even have hope."
I rant.

"Well I don't want
to fight with you
but like I said I
want you out of
my house."

"By when?" I ask
annoyed.

"As soon as you
can, I'm not going
to kick you out
tonight or anything
because I know
you've been
through shit but
I'm done."

"Whatever." I roll
my eyes before
heading into my
room.
