prologue

A sob echoed, cutting the silence. Jimin holds his pillow close to his hurting chest. The once silent tears was replaced into a repeating sobs.

Jimin knew something was wrong the moment he took a glance and saw how his friend's personal bodyguard had eyed it's master. Jimin was young yet smart for his age. He's above average, and so as his friend. His only friend.

"It's okay."

His friend's small voice echoed through his thoughts.

"I know, what's his up to. But I'm prepared, okay? Don't you trust me?"

He trusted him. He never should have. He could've helped him. He could've been still alive.

"Our dads are bad people Jimin. It's normal to meet people who are after us, just like Bunkyun hyung. That's why you have to be careful, alright Jiminie?"

He's living that moment, the scenario in a the huge study room where they normally sits and talk about unicorns and physics.

Beautiful brown eyes looking at him, a smile decorating it's lips. One front tooth is missing, yet it never made Jimin think of his friend any less beautiful, instead he thinks of his friend as if he's a puppy, a small furry puppy. But mischievous and evil-who'll-never-think-twice-to-bite-you puppy. A puppy whom he'll offer his life to protect.

"By the way, I've found out that I'm an omega and you're an alpha. I would've argue that I'm an alpha. Because,"

A small pause..

Jimin focused on his face, his lips, plump and red which Jimin always steal innocent pecks whenever the boy sounds asleep. His nose, small Jimin always compare it to a tomato, because it always have a red tip even in summer. Jimin will always bop it, especially whenever he's sleepy but still had to do his assignment, or when he'll fall asleep in front of his canvass holding his paintbrush.

Jimin is not surprised that his friend will turn out to be an omega. He's too beautiful not to be one. The only thing that Jimin slightly doubted it is because his friend is a very strong boy, not physically but beyond that.

In the current state that pack leaders had been replaced to presidents and territories are now called a 'countries' and monarchy is  replaced with democracy. Jimin thought, his friend would be a great pack leader if he'd given a chance. As an omega, his friend never had submitted to anyone except his parents, instead he manipulates everyone, not how to submit to him, but to treat him as nicely as he does with them. He's cunning and handles everything as smooth as it is. Gets whatever he wants, and fearless.

Jimin could go on to a day for more things his friend is capable of.

"well, you have to admit that I'm stronger than you and also I'm taller than you and many more reason that I should be an alpha but.."

Other than those, his friend has the biggest heart. He appreciates every little living things. He once let a mosquito bit him because he thinks the mosquito is pregnant and she needs to feed her babies inside her tummy by his own blood, turns out, mother mosquitoes have the most chance of carrying a malaria virus.

Jimin had to dryly smile from the thought but it didn't cure his broken heart in the slightest.

"..I've received the report I sneaked in to get our medical reports and.."

Did I mention how Jimin's friend gets whatever he wants? Jimin admired his friends curious mind, and strong will. Whenever he sets his mind to something, it's gonna be hard to stop him from taking action.

His hair is silver. Jimin have read from his anatomy book that when humans turn into wolves at their right age, their fur color will be similar to their hair. He wonders how beautiful his friend's wolf would look like if he'd finally turn into his wolf. Jimin will pay anything, just to see the first time taehyung will turn into his wolf. Although due to dna alterations from hundreds of generations, only few people can turn themselves into their wolf form, it's unlikely for his friend transform.

"Uhm, anyway.."

The boys' eyes peeking under his long lashes, looking directly to jimin's which Jimin would normally flinch away at first but will go back and stare at it nonetheless. It's because his friends' eyes is a small opening next to another galaxy. It's like a blackhole, one glance, you'll never get away from the pull.

"..the point is, meaning, there's a big chance that we can be mates."

Jimin had to snap from his trance.

Mates.

They'll be mates.

Is his friend, asking for him to be mates or..

The thought of being mates drives Jimin into some sort of bliss. He had to clench his heart to refrain it from beating too loud.

"Would you like it Jimin?"

Would he like it?

Jimin is smart, his teacher told him he has a gift. But Jimin can't care any lesser, he'd still look dumb in front of his friend eitherway. So what's the point of being too smart?

He sounds casual, but Jimin think of it as a wedding proposal or even a wedding vow.

"You'll love to be my mate, right?"

Jimin felt like throwing up from the memory.

Of course, he'd love to be his friend's mate.

He buried his face on his pillow, throwing his blanket over his head and folds his body until he felt like his limbs can't take more stretch and he felt like he's small enough to be protected by any sort of protection, in this case his unwashed blanket which him and his friend use to cover themselves up whenever they' would watch a movie, and pillow which is his friend's favorite thing to cuddle after jimin when the boy is sleeping over, or the T-shirt he's wearing.  They all smell like his friend.

A mixture of mild strawberries and vanilla, has a very small pinch of mint, slightly tingling, and a faint mixture of caramel. Sweet, intoxicating and comforting.

But Jimin finds the slightest comfort. It hurts him more, the memories are flashing his mind like never ending movie, fueling by his friends' scent.

Exhaustion may have hitting him up as he felt his eyes getting heavy, he sniffs as tears kept flowing down his red cheeks. Eyes finally closed when he let his tired body take over his mind.

"Taehyung." He mutters before finally taking a rest from a long depressing day.

__
