Honeymoon

"One looney wizard left to find and then we can finally start our honeymoon," I sigh as we lock up the ninth wizard.

"Whaddya mean start? Kicking ass is the best part?" Natsu quips as we make our way back to the beach.

"Seriously? That's the best part?" I'm annoyed.

He bites his lip and cuts his eyes to me as we walk, "well, maybe the second best part."

"Do you always have to be such a perv!"

"Hey! You're my wife now! Cut me a break would ya!"

Wife.

It pulls a redness to my cheeks. I could hear him call me that all day. Before I can respond I see distinct Earth magic ripple towards us as we've found the last escaped mage. He lights up like a match but I hold my hand out in front of him. He's had a long day.

Reaching for my whip I snap it in the direction of the wavering foliage. I can't see anyone in particular in the tree line but I definitely felt resistance as my whip collided. The sharp shrill afterwards is another indicator that we've found them.

An emerging palm tree threatens to knock me off balance but I remain level as I crack my whip again. This time I've managed to completely wrap the last mage and pull them out of the treeline and onto the sand.

Natsu slaps the anti magic cuffs on and throws the trembling mage over his shoulders as he walks in the direction of the asylum.

"Since we have found them all, does this mean we are ready to get to the best part of the honeymoon?" He smirks.

"Keep dreaming. After we get our Jewel, I have a nice long date with the waves."

"No food?" He asks, and I swear I can practically hear his stomach thunder next to me.

"Fine. Yes food," I groan. The ocean will just have to wait. I swear, it's like he's a bottomless pit. Mira must be so lost now that she doesn't have to slave away cooking for Natsu.

We eat sandwiches on the beach, not a grand fancy dinner, but it's nice to feel the sand in between my toes and watch the waves crash against the shore. We eat together in comfortable silence. I take my last bite and rest my head on his shoulder. He drapes his arm over my shoulder and we just sit there and enjoy the quiet.

That's one of my favorite things about Natsu, he fills the silence when it's necessary, but keeps it when it's not.

I don't know if it was because of the soothing sounds of the waves, or Natsu playing with my hair, or maybe it was a combination of the both. Anyhow, I fell asleep. I wake up in Natsu's arms as he's carrying me back to our hotel room like a child.

Once he notices I'm awake he whispers to me before giving me a trademark toothy Natsu grin, "Look up Lucy, it's your stars."

I slip out of his arms and crane my neck up at the sky. There's no lacrimas or lanterns. Just a dark island, and a sky full of stars. They pepper the deep blue in irridescent glitter. It's beautiful.

He slips his fingers through my hand, effectively pulling me out of my stargazing.

"I'm tired Luce," he says.

"I know," I squeeze his hand. After a long boat ride, followed by battling psychotic wizards, we are both grimy and exhausted. I almost decided to crawl into bed but thought better of it. I hate going to bed and my skin is covered in stale sweat and a sheen of grime. I can never sleep and I feel so itchy and grossed out because it gets the sheets grimy.

I opt for a shower because I don't have the energy to soak in the bath. After I rinse my hair, I hear the door creak open. Shortly after, Natsu slips in the shower behind me.

He lathers soap on my shoulders, down my back, over my hips, and he trails his hands up my chest before gripping me.

His touch sends shivers down my spine. I wonder if that will ever stop? I hope not. I hope I never get used to him in this way.

"Natsu," I breathe out. He stipples teensy kisses on my shoulder before gripping my hips and tugging me against him.

"I know you're tired," he starts, "but since we've started being this way with each other, I don't know how to keep my hands off ya Luce."

"So don't," I turn in his arms and kiss him. Water rains down on us, soaking his pink hair. He's kissing me roughly and while his hands explore, I get a viscous thought. Grabbing the shampoo bottle, I keep my lips against his firmly as I squirt a collosal amount of shampoo on his head. He breaks away from my lips and his hand immediately goes to his head. He realizes what I've done and has adopted a devilish grin with fangs and all.

"Oh so I kiss you and this is how you repay me? Two can play at that game," he laughs snatching the handheld shower head and switching the water to cold. He aims it straight at me and it feels like ice.

"Natsu stop!" I shriek and throw loofahs at him giggling. His water assault doesn't stop though. He's amped up his game and starts tickling my ribs.

"Uncle Uncle!" I scream unable to bear it anymore. He stops and turns the water temperature back to scalding hot, just as I like it. He pulls me against him and my arms loop around his neck as the water hits my back. I decide to not waste what's left of the shampoo on Natsu's bubblegum locks. I lather it in until his head looks like cotton candy.

He pushes me back against the wall so my back is on it and rests his hand on the wall over my face to prop himself up as the water and soap cascades down his face until there's no shampoo left in his hair.

I can't help but stare at the muscles that ripple over his arm, his chest and stomach. The veins that trace his skin and even the scars that gleam under the shine of the water. God took his time making him. I know Natsu isn't crazy about his scars, especially the one on his cheek, but to me it makes him even more breath taking. He's so strong and it's so... Attractive. It shows that he's not perfect and these imperfections make him more perfect in my eyes.

He notices me staring and my breathing takes a hitch. He crosses his arms over his chest and leans back against the tile wall.

"Tch," he smirks at me.

I'm embarrassed now as I cross my arms over my chest too, "what?"

"So what do you think I look like huh?" He asks me. I know what he's talking about. He's asked me this once before. How ironic it is that he says this. I could give him an in depth soliloquy on how enamored I am with him now, but I don't want it to go to his head.

"Like the same Natsu I've always known," I tell him. He places his hand on my cheek and gives me a wry smile before kissing me gently.

"C'mon Lucy, water is turning cold. Besides, I know you're tired."

We finish up our shower and towel off before sliding into bed. I don't even put pajamas on. I just slide under the covers and welcome the warm covering.

I fall asleep in his arms for the second time today. Man, I could get used to this.
