(FINALLY)

Recap-

We got to the supermarket and were wandering through the isles holding hands like a perfect couple. No teachers in sight and no students. What could go wrong right?

Once again I jinxed myself, because about three seconds after I thought that, something bad happened.

Chapter Six - Shake Rattle and Roll Baby

Everything shook, food was falling off the shelves and the ground started to crack. I started to shake; I knew this was an earthquake, and a huge one. I didn't know what to do, everyone was screaming and panicking and I was just standing there on shock not able to move. I then realised that Marcus was gone from next to me, I started to panic thinking that he's left me here and ran or he's hurt. I ran to the end of the isle to see everyone trying to get out by the doors that were about to fall any second. The earth stopped shaking and everyone froze for a second. I knew more were coming, because that was a 'daddy' earthquake and I can guarantee that his whole family isnt to far behind. Everyone took advantage of the non-shaking ground and tried to escape, causing madness everywhere.

I was looking around for Marcus when another Earthquake stuck. This one lasted longer and was more powerful, and shelves started to fall all around me. I was about to run when something stopped me. A little girl was crying and the end of the isle, shelfs had fallen all around her and she was scared. There was no possible way to get to her but I refused to leave her, she was a little girl and someone's baby. I had to find a way in fast; this roof wasn't going to last long. I grabbed the closet shelf to me that had fallen down and climbed over it, now all that was stopping me was another shelf that was over the top of her, creating a fort out of shelves. I moved a few boxes of food and threw them down to the floor where I was standing moments ago. I created a steady platform that I knew wasn't going to shift or fall when I moved the shelf and began to lift it up. I underestimated the weight of the shelf, and realised that I didn't even budge it, this was 1000kg maybe even more and I was the only one around.

"Please... Don't leave me here... I just want mummy!" the little started sobbing. There was no way I could get in with my original plan, so I decided to go to plan B. I started tearing everything off a shelf next to me and started to climb through it. It was a struggle for me to get through it but I knew if I could get in, I could help the little girl get up and out to safety the way I just came in. I knew if I was to jump down to the girl I wouldn't be able to get back up so I held out my hand for her to grab onto. Some might call this a 'selfish' act, but what good is saving someone and getting yourself trapped? I was always taught that my life matters more than the next and that they have the same opinion, even when resuscitating someone, you make sure you are safe before helping them. If you were to get hurt, then who is going to help the both of you?

"Im not going to leave you here okay, but I need you to do exactly as I say okay?" she couldn't speak so she just nodded, and I prayed this would work.

"I need you to stand up on that shelf and grab my hand and I will pull you up but you need to hang on tight." She mumbled a soft okay and then proceeded to step up onto the shelf and grab my hand, which she was just a little too short for, so I leant down further and she jumped up a little and we managed to grab each other's hand.

I shifted myself so I was almost off the shelf and she could squeeze through. I pulled her up and into the shelf using all of my strength that I had in me and she crawled down the rest of the way.

"Thankyou" she said, with little smile while she wiped away her tears. The ground started to shake again and I knew that one was about to start again.
