Eve's POV:
Things have been very quiet around the house lately. Mom says she can finally redo her room because Dad wouldn't let her, but I think the room just reminds her to much of him. She was really sad, but didn't cry around me. I heard her at night though. I decided to right her a song to make her feel better. I have grown close to her over the past few days and I really want her to know that I appreciate her, so I set to work.
After a few hours, I finished. "Mom, I have a surprise for you!" I yelled down the stairs. I rush down and walk over to my guitar. She looks confused, but sits down. I start to sing.
I finish and look up. She pulls me into a hug and I feel tears hitting the top of my head. I smile and hug back. We stay like that for a while and when we pull apart, she says "I love you." I smile and say, "I love you too." She kisses my forehead and tells me how amazing my song is before I go to bed and get a good night's sleep.
